It's risen in price due to the fuel shortages and a bit of scaremongering.
All my vehicles run on premium fuels, whether petrol or diesel, and my weekly fuel costs have increased by £100 recently.

I see pretty much none of the fuel stations are honouring the 5p drop in fuel duty. Some are but then putting up the price by 3p. It's a mess out there at the moment with massive price differences within a few miles. I have a diesel car but with 20p difference it's soon gonna be cheaper driving the bus about. Sorry I used the word "cheaper" there quite flippantly.

I’ve been watching this with interest. Asda where I work, is running out every other day or every day sometimes. There’s been no additional top ups since it all went crazy just one delivery per day. It’s almost as if they’re keeping it scarce to create the panic and to justify the higher prices. Previously the tanker would come every day and the tanks would be down to about a quarter and they’d top them up daily. Now they get emptied and the one daily delivery can not quite fill them up , maybe a half to three quarters full and so they run out most days which creates the illusion and the panic of shortages which In turn keeps the prices sky high. Top quality marketing I reckon, keeping everyone topped right up in all of their motors and mowers etc because it’ll be even dearer next week

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,as told to me by the staff that run our un manned station :);):)

Deliveries are still affected by shortages of trained drivers. It’s less newsworthy now but still an issue. They were never going to be able to fix the problem quickly.

All fuel is crazy money now, either gotta pay through the nose or find ways to reduce useage. Tough times to come for many.

South Africans ran diesels on refined rape seed oil for decades due to trade embargo's. There's always a workaround.
I can see sales of log burners soaring.
The current fuel prices relate to a huge increase in tax profits for the untrustworthy, corrupt UK government. 5p reduction still means they are taking far more tax than usual on vehicle and household fuels.
They should reduce tax to keep the tax portion in line with what it would be at reasonable prices, this would relieve some cost at the pump to the TAX PAYER, with no loss of tax income.
Unfortunately they are a bunch of unqualified for their positions, unsuitable, self serving, boys club, morons and they are currently having the best tax year ever. I wonder what they will decide to waste all of our money on this time?
Sorry for the rant, these fools get me worked up.

Its a point that's often overlooked. VAT on fuel that is increasing in price means much increased tax revenue, I haven't done the maths, but yeah, the 5p tax cut will be pretty much balanced out, at least.
But, fairs fair, these guys need the cash income to pay mates for dodgy contracts, pay rises, parties, gold wallpaper and massive test and trace contact bills.
