Yeah, doors are now matching the rest of it. Doing a bit at a time was a bit of a ball ache. Next time if i was to do it I would strip it to the shell go and get it blasted and do it in one go. New scrapers in and felts, i shall leave the quarter lights for now though the rubbers could do with replacing but I can do them at a later date but at the moment I just can't be arsed. I just need to find some time of work and get out in it which is what I bought it for in the first place.

Well, finally the driver and passenger doors are the same colour who-ooh, but putting in the felts !!! What a load of crap, I bought them from Schofields and the inner felt of both doors fell just after me rolling the windows up twice to adjust them so I need to order some more - I won't be getting them from them though generally the build quality of after market stuff is utter shite and I think they take the piss. The old ones were the OG one and heh they've only been on 40 odd years. :stonehim:

I have booked myserlf inot the show and shine at Harewood, mainly 'cos I cant be arsed walkiong up from the car park :D

Bus is looking shiny

Yes mate, very very shiny. Now that you've buggered up the body with shiny shiny paint, you are going to have to wash it ! Bet you didn't think about that bit did you? That was the balls ache when I got some paint on mine, I also started getting a bit precious about it too, but mines got a dent in the front now and someone has scraped my rear wheel arch and it's taken that 'precious' thing away. It's all good and part of the process bud. ;)

Ozziedog ',,,,,,,,, You going to Dubs at the Castle mate?

Dragged the bus out of the garage to make room to do a spot of welding on my T4 work van. I doubt I've put a hundred mile on it this year :( On the other side there's less chance of it rusting :D

   I know what you mean. I have put more mileage on the van this year taking it from winter hibernation to MOT than actually enjoying it. I actually had a wobble and said to the long haired general lets sell now while the stay cation bounce is on and get another fixer upper in the winter. It was here that said no which shocked me.

Been a while but I have been cogitating, anyway decided I need 2 things in my van. one being a coolbox for milk and beer and a heater would be nice so i need power to feed them, I cogitated and decided the cheapest way weas best which involved a 95 Ah AGm battery and voltage sensitive relay, so £150 for the battery and £65 for the bits and bobs Oh and a chinese diesel heater another hundred quid so say £350 for the job.
IMG_20220813_122643722.jpg
I also bought a small 2 litre diesel container which should be ample for a couple of days but we shall see.
IMG_20220813_143640932.jpg
A good spot for the VSR - voltage sensitive relay was where the OG circuit tester used to be
IMG_20220813_123507342.jpg
I shall make a brackert for the 2 litre diesel container which shall reside in the engine bay, what could possibly go wrong
IMG_20220813_163310733.jpg
I had to maker a thing 'cos room was tight and my options were limited for the diesel heater having full belly pans
IMG_20220816_115210755.jpg
It just fitted and a bit of a fiddly bit to do but all good
IMG_20220816_145257261.jpg
Now I can bolt the heater in place and get the rest of it hooked up i shall show you the position of the control in the next exciting issue :)

Great to see you back at it, it has been a while.
Hope all is as well as can be expected. Stay safe.

Crack on Ade, I’ve still got your mug bud
Let's see how it goes with your install. I did a pal a favour a couple of months back and he’s gone and bought me a Chinese diesel heater but he’s got me an 8KW job, yup eight killer wottts. Should be toasty but it’ll melt all the plastic in the van
My plan is to shoe horn it in the wasted space between the front wheel well/arch and the central aisle but under the seat on the passenger side. Mine will mainly be used when Mrs Ozziedog is navigating so ideal position really. Not sure about camping and using it though, as I prefer my Stella overcoat and a duvet for when it’s cold. Perhaps your plan is better as in heating up the whole of the bus and not just the front, we’ll have to compare notes when they’re being used in the winter time.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,glad you’re still kicking.:);):)

I shall be inspecting that mug when I get my hands on it for any scratches or inappropriate use 🙂 Yes 8Kw would heat a house, but if it hass a decent control and thermostat it shouldn't be a issue. It would be good to meet up this year, I don't know what events are coming up or which ones you are heading to, let me know (y)

8kW heater wont fit there due to it's size ozzie, 2kW max I'm afraid.
I think the 8kW heater may melt any parts of your bus in line with the vent as well.

Next weekend is the LateBay Techenders up past Pork pie central
(Melton Mowbray) I’ll remember the name of it in a minute , very laid back, just camping in a farm field, bar, pub in easy reach, fish and chips close etc etc. Eddy the owner has a very very nice split, a few bikes nice too, BMW, A10, A65, etc etc Thunderbird I’m thinking maybe even a bathtub too. No need to book, just turn up, and pay for how long you stay. Might wanna check the LateBay site and pop your name down if you’re going.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,Lutterworth maybe :) :)
