Could it be an EGR Valve fault? A friend had a Seat Leon TDI a few years ago that had a similar sounding issue.

Well it passed on its second attempt, failed first time on a couple of rubber ball joint covers being perished so happy days!! Needless to say I'd probably continue to recommend them based on that

I've taken it to Thorpe Lane Garage in Lincoln, taken it there since I've got it and they've always been pretty fair to me. Had a T25 in when i dropped it off as well so i think they do a few VW's. They don't MOT themselves (it went to Dave Clark last year), I'll let you know how i get on with...

Slightly off topic but do you guys know anywhere locally that can setup and/or tune carbs? Having some issues getting mine to run right at the moment.

Had mine light up last year, it was down to brake lights staying on after I'd fitted some after market LED bulbs. Changed back to old bulbs light went off. You don't have a dodgy connection somewhere in the brake lights?

Right, got that issue sorted but now have a far worse one. Carb is now running very rich and flooding the engine. Have had it apart a couple of times and can't sort it. Any thoughts what I'm doing wrong? I don't know the history of the carb and am wondering if is be best getting it properly...

Bit of an issue while servicing the carb (solex 34) on my bus today. The front stud that bolts down on to the manifold has cross threaded, meaning I can't bolt it back on. As its cross threaded don't think I can get another stud to replace, so any suggestions on how to get the carb back on? Can...
