    1971 Microbus, Cali Import

The time has come to sell my much cherished 1971 Californian Microbus. She's called Phoebe due to the last three letters of her Cali license plate being FBE. Owing to my expanding family I'm not getting the chance to use her regularly now and it's a shame for her to sit in the garage when I'm...

Another white westy - Busted again!

For pitman arms and the securing nuts try Mega-Bug. I think I paid 30 quid. They will be second hand but these parts aren't susceptible to wearing. Just give the splines a good clean before fitting and maybe a smear of copperslip grease and away you go. Ian

Yup, you just need to complete the mods to the chassis. The mods include making a larger hole in the chassis and the re-positioning of two of the mounting holes. I too have done this mod to my bus using a new box and it was all pretty straight forward and well worth doing. I have a series of...

Another white westy - Busted again!

Looking on the Heritage and JK website I see that you can buy brand new steering boxes for left hookers -72 and up. Do you happen to know whether...

    Smokey Engine

Evenin' Trikky2, I put more oil in when I noticed the problem, just checked it now and it's as it was. I've fired it up again and as before there was quite a lot of smoke, it smells very rich too. Could it be that the oil has been diluted with petrol in some way and this is going by the rings...

    Smokey Engine

Evening all, Quick question for you. My bus has been laid up for about 8 months and over the Easter weekend I decided to blow the dust off it and fire it up. After checking and making good the oil level, which rather oddly was low, I removed the coil lead and cranked the engine over. After...

    123 Dizzy

Thanks for that, much appreciated. I got the part numbers off my original items but searching on the web against them didn't bring up anything obvious in terms of actual suppliers / shops etc. I'll see what I can lay my hands on tomorrow. Cheers ian
