I can differentiate between a sonic screwdriver, phaser & a lightsaber but no idea on vehicle parts…

Van is enjoying his lovely new engine & now I have a pile of spare widgets...
Exhaust - only done about 600 miles including some exhaust manifold bits
2 x front brake drums
4 x hubcaps - rusty
2 x wing mirrors - rusty
Tin ware from engine
2 x sealed headlights - rusty...
Update. Engine was toast.
New engine fitted by the VW Engine Company near Biggin Hill. Lovely people, had a tour of the place & they explained everything they do.
Mr Dark Star reports that our van drove beautifully all the way home .

Had a refurbished gear box fitted earlier this year. All seemed wonderful, less stirring of custard, more actually finding a gear. This may not be relevant to the following issue…
