    Breakdown cover for lowered bays?

Morning, Who do you use for breakdown/recovery if your bay is lowered ? RAC say no modified cars on their website.. my bay and t5 are only lowered 3 “ ish but I don’t want any nasty surprises if I go with them! Any bad experiences with breakdown companies? I’ve never been recovered in 25 years...

    Replacing Heater Lever.

As for the levers, if you look through the stereo hole you’ll see they’re connected by little white plastic grommets . Absolute knuckle grazing fiddly job but quite do able with patience, just push plastic grommets out of their slot then refit after new ones are in 🤙

    Bigger engines and increased cc’s

As said, if same engine just up cc size on v5. If new engine it’s cc size and engine no. I’ve got a factory built 1600 I bought years ago with no engine no. And when I put it in my bug I upped the cc to 1584 and left engine no. Blank, it came back as same engine no. As the previous 1200 was 🙄...

Help please any carb gurus .

Yeah I would bung in the 60’s and see what happens. I used to get my jets from fast roadcar on eBay and I think years ago he told me you can make up thedifference of 2 (58-60) with mixture screw adjustment? Dunno if that’s true though! but I found 60 were good for me. I’ve played about for hours...

Help please any carb gurus .

FYI if it’s any help, mine are wound out 3&3/4 turns and I’m running 180 airs and 60 idles. If it pops it’s too lean so I would maybe up idles and mains a bit. I’ve always found vent size x 4.1 -4.3 is good for main jet size. Hope that helps

Help please any carb gurus .

Reading your post again, it does sound like not enough squirt from pump jets. I’ve had this before ,years ago but forgotten what it was 🙄. Do you have the dell or to book by Tomlinson ? Great fault finding pages in there. If I can find mine over weekend I’ll look and let you know.

Help please any carb gurus .

Get some aerosol compressed air cans (electricians use them, can get on eBay or electrical supplies place) and blow out all jets, I always carry cans of air , they’re a must with twins.. my idles block every now and then due to dirty fuel tank, I can whip them out roadside with angled needle...

    Favourite film.

All of the above ( the ones I’ve heard of anyway) E.T is right up there for me, watched it with my daughter recently and I’ve never seen her sob that much over a film, she was inconsolable ! Shows how moving it is.. Also The croods is a big favourite “release the baby ! “
