I used a 2 part araldite to repair cracks and fill in for small missing bits on mine.

When Beetles are going for a grand again give me a shout.

    Are van prices falling

There'll always be a cycling in and out of fashion that will affect the prices but I don't yet see it in any way collapsing like they did around 2008-2010.

    Dirty little secret…….😳

Nice, but I presume it'd be even slower? Not sure I could take that.

    Xmas gifts

I run kerosene in mine and it works well. 2kw is more than enough for a wee van like ours.

    New to early bay

This is the best advice and it will save you a fortune ! My 72 crossover is built from parts from two 72s. I spent so, so many hours trawling the net trying to work out what went where as I have the memory of a goldfish and couldn't remember where anything went, or what way around.

Where'd you get the starter motor rebuilt?

    Best quality heat exchangers

Similar to the Eber but yes, a lot cheaper ! It came with its own 5 litre diesel tank. I have all of it under the seat of the rock n roll bed. I'll take a picture later on if this rain ever stops and I can get out to the garage.

    Best quality heat exchangers

After months of messing with my heat exchangers, and seeing the price of replacements I gave up and bought a diesel heater off eBay for £100, so happy I did, I'm toasty warm now !

Greetings , new boy in these parts..

Lovely bikes, I've a TS1 225 GP200, a PX200 and a 50 Special myself, and a couple of vespa twist and gos. I've had a few Series 2s over the years but the handling on them just puts me off. Never had an SX but there's still time !

    Hi from new member

Welcome to the joy of owning a crossover, I've a 72 Dormobile too. As someone said above get yourself a Bentley manual, you can even find digital versions of it online, I found it much better than the Haynes, also there's bound to be some knowledgeable vw people near you, make friends with them...
