So I got excited and 3D printed one out of PLA. I have no deal how long it'll last, but after opening up the hole a little with a 10mm drill bit spun by hand, it fits perfectly. Needs a fair old push to get it into the rod hole, and is secured with araldite. I've ordered one of the moulded jobs...

I'vw also just changed all my bushes- and yes, the replacement front bush is rubbish (all of them are to be honest!) Have bought some teflon tube to turn down and try :-) Thanks for the inspiration :-)

You've also got the wrong distributor and are missing the tinware over the exhaust pipes- that's a big one, get that put back on pretty sharpish I would.

I would recommend keeping the vac distributor and just replacing the points with an accuspark. I think they're about £40 now, which isn't too bad. Personally, I've found points to be a real pain over the last couple of years that I used them. The blocks wear away quickly, and setting them up...

Have you driven it? If you've just taken it off jacks then it might just have landed a bit funny. Otherwise, there's not really much to adjust for rear camber. Check that the ride height is even on both sides- angle gauge on spring plate- and if that's all OK, you may be able to get a tiny bit...

I think I remember a guide on using a ford KA handle to open it- to the point where I bought one- but can't for the life of me find it now. Might have a look tonight, I'm fiddling with the tailgate anyway.

You shouldn't need to push the cardboard hoses through the tinware. Your backbox should have a couple of these: https://www.vwheritage.com/113255165-fresh-air-hose-connecting-pipe-vw-spare sitting in the air pods, poking up through the tinware. Your cardboard hose will pop over those, and...

Don't think that's an original vent shown I'm afraid... The only roof fan vent that I'm aware of was central to the roof, and much larger, like a big mushroom. If you're not a purist and don't much fancy taking the pop-top off to weld the hole up, I recommend getting a smaller vent or blanking...
