    Spark Plug Blow Out

Cheers one and all for the input. I've decided that for peace of mind and the fact she's been round the clock at least once, I'm going to rebuild the top end on both sides. The old girl deserves a treat.

    Spark Plug Blow Out

Thanks for the replies. Should I just bite the bullet and get a top end rebuild kit? Do I need any special tools to do the job as I haven't done it before? I'm competent with mechanicals but never done a rebuild. Is it relatively straight forward?

    Spark Plug Blow Out

Help needed. She is a 1970 1600 Bay. A few months ago she spat a spark plug out. I just thought I hadn't tightened it enough so just put it back in. Tonight, she spat the same plug out and now it won't screw back in. The thread is fine on the plug, so could the engine thread be stripped? If so...

    Clutch Pedal

Thanks for replies. Checked all the suggestions and nothing appears to be wrong. Trouble is, I can't find a diagram of the set up I've got. Mine has the brake pedal shaft running through the clutch pedal bracket on the chassis and a spring returns the brake pedal which works fine. I'll try and...

    Clutch Pedal

On a '70 Bay. Had to replace my clutch cable as it snapped. Got the right one for the year but I've wound it up on the transmission end and the clutch pedal doesn't return or feel like it's working. Am I correct in assuming that the tension on the cable is what returns the pedal or am I missing...

    Clutch Cable Replacement

Hi all. My clutch cable snapped the other day so it needs replacing. Consulted my manuals and studied the pictures, got under my van and found that mine is not like the pictures. It is a combined clutch lever with an interior pin running through it to operate the brake piston going into the...

    Exhaust

I used tin cans. Take both ends off, cut down the seam, wrap round the gap and fix into place with them metal tie straps. It does a lovely job.

    Rear Upper Shock Fitting

    I trust VW Heritage more than Haynes. https://d1ewdjcn9y8im8.cloudfront.net/_img/products/101805/ADDE7468-5DA9-49F1-ABE6-F56CE787FF75.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

    Rear Upper Shock Fitting

I've only got washers on the outside face. Don't think there should be a washer between the two faces as the bush fits in the mounting. That's the way my van has always been and I'm not about to change it. Hope this helps.

    Tailgate difference between earlybays?

Probably a silly question, but does the replacement have glass in it. The reg number may be etched on it. It is on mine.

    T25 Wanted Lake District

Hi there. A friend of mine is after a T25 as close to the Lake District as possible. Doesn't need to be shiny, just reliable with interior and pop top and of course, a good engine. He's new to the VW life, so doesn't want to be thrown in at the deep end. Anything about?
