    Hubcaps and Yellow Fogs

Failed miserably at Stanford, wondering if any of you have the following for sale: original vw baby moon hubcaps with logo pair of vintage yellow fog lights, small is diameter. Bought a set of "good quality" ones at a show a few years back and they've turn ed to dust!! both to go on our early...

    Devon Tap Knob wanted

Hi all, I'm looking for a replacement knob for the tap on our 71 Devon Moonraker which exploded on me over the weekend. It's a round one that screws onto the top of the tap assembly. Any pointers thanks Mark

Wanted - early '71 Torsion Bars

yeah I'm the same, looked at all the chassis code tables and other than it's a '71 I'm clueless! ;) I know he's got the one year only front Callipers so I'm assuming he's early, and therefore a pain to get these bloody bars!

Wanted - early '71 Torsion Bars

cheers chad, I'm now confused as to whether he's an early or late '71! I was under the impression he was early but not 100% sure I'm reading the VIN number charts correct? starts 2212 which as far as I was aware is pre-July '71 microbus, but speaking to Type2 detectives they seem to think...

Wanted - early '71 Torsion Bars

So my rear torsion bar snapped, went off like a bullet and scared me shitless in the process, the bus is now sat at a horrible angle down at the back on one side :( So question, where the hell do you get replacements. I tried Heritage who have them in stock but only for Aug '71 onwards. Is...

    47mm tow ball

We're picking up an old trailer from Holland at a show in a few weeks and I'm fairly sure it's got an early size 47mm towball. I have a JK towbar with removable bolt on towball. Anybody point me in the right place to source one that I can bolt on? cheers Mark

JK TowBar - no were near fitting

well got it to fit in the end. Had to grind a notch in the exhaust tail pipe bracket and also make a spacer to sit behind the drop arm and the chassis to space it past the bumper iron on the side with the extra tow hitch loops. I also sprayed the support angle iron that bolts to the rear valance...

JK TowBar - no were near fitting

no the cross beam only goes on one way. Really don't want to notch the bumper irons, don't mind about the exhaust bracket but if you're designing something like this don't you think that they've have given you some flexibility, this is all just too close. I have the one year only rear valance...

JK TowBar - no were near fitting

Why is it that everything you buy now for buses doesn't fit without butchering it? I bought a JK towbar, Watling engineering one, second hand a few months ago and just getting round to fitting it...

    Front Badge...

Well I can't blame them having issues with the repro's, but it would be great if somebody would start making products that are true German quality. I'd happily pay more for good triple chromed products that I know are going to last. I've stopped buying new stuff if I can help it, instead I've...

    Front Badge...

Yeah tell me about it. I threw away the rear light units too, got the original ones, cleaned them up and sprayed a Plasticoat Chrome paint in the dull reflectors, came up a treat! I also bought some nice front spot lights from a show in Holland, they lasted 5 months before bubbling up, I just...

    Front Badge...

So after a bottom end respray I've just finished putting the old boy back together and just couldn't bring myself to put the utter bollox that's meant to pass as a chrome front badge back on. I got given an original badge last night and didn't realize just how bad the repro ones are, seriously...

    Random not starting......

One thing you can consider is adding a hot start relay. I used to have an issue where I'd run the van, maybe get to the services, go for a coffee, come back and he just wouldn't start. Totally intermittent depending on the weather, price of cheese, cost of pork scratchings etc . Leave the van a...

    Problem with my horn

normally means the indicator switch is cracked and the indicator arm drops a little, yes, earthing against the column, either that or the screws holding it in are loose. I love the fact that who ever wrote little miss sunshine clearly had a van at some point! ;)

    Heavy Steering

I'm going to have a good poke round when I get the van back from the spray shop, as I say, can't say it's every bothered me till somebody else pointed it out!
