Thanks , that’s what I thought, the structure is sound and having gone at it with a hammer and screwdriver , the hole is about 4” long and half inch wide .... time for some angle grinding

Thanks for that , I've just bought a pair of mx5 seats , but they still sit higher than the originals ( unless I do some major surgery to the tub) so the T25 idea sounds good.

The seats were refurbished inc springs and foam about five years ago, and are in great nick. My problem is I need something with a bit more adjustment . Thanks chaps, the MX5 seems to get a lot of mentions . I'm not really keen on going off the original seats , but by back is thinking otherwise .....so it's new seats ( and power steering😱) and use the bus.....or leave original and just sit and look at it ...no contest. Anyone off to Cropredy...

What other alternatives are there, I've tried Saab , but too high . Mazda and MG ? Or anything else . I'd prefer to stay with the original but age and a bad back means I need something different, without altering the mounting frame etc.

I have a complete ( 7 curtains) set of five year old curtains for sale . They are in good condition , but have faded in the folds. They pink in colour . I can send photos by email , tried on here but the file is too big. They are still very useable , but could be dyed for colour change . £60...

Just removed from my 1970 1641 Dormobile . Including twin port manifolds, linkage,filters , pipe work etc. Professional rebuild in March 2016 , 27-29 mpg. Just decided to go back to original single carb. £260 inc postage or delivery .

Has anyone got, or know where I can get , a chrome front panel . The only ones I've found are for painting.
