I used that evostik putty for the same fix and it’s great - mind you’ll have to redo it each time you take off the steering wheel 😫

I wonder if someone could measure the height of the steering wheel edge at the back to the floor and to the headliner I’m fitting power steering and I think I’ve left the column too long - of course forgot to measure first doh!!!

Bushing!!!! Not bashing!!

I use a type iv starter, no pinion or bashing needed!

I had exact same problem last march Oil pressure would waver and sometimes drop to zero and light would come on and go off again (This was with new vdo gauge and sender) I removed the two pressure relief pistons Polished them with wet and dry and replaced them - problem sorted!!! 2000 miles...
