    1600 ‘71 compression test

I think the book says something about squirting a little oil down in the cyl you are checking if the psi goes up then it's the rings if i remember correctly. That is extremely low but at least they are not to far from one another that's probably why it runs pretty good. i had a friend and his...

Advice Please - Just Acquired Stock 1600 Engine....

All the above and also always replace the oil cooler seals regardless and if the push rods seals are leaking change those out too. check and see if you have a single carb, which is fine, see if the heat risers are clear so the intake will heat up properly so it won't ice up. Like the guy above...

Unable to remove the 'Pitman' arm!!

looks like you need a bigger breaker bar or a 3/4 inch ratchet with a really long handle and lots of heat the yellow bottle not the blue one. i had a really stubborn one on a parts bus i had and that's what it took.

    Carb upgrade for 1600tp

you can still run a stock carb with a 1776 it just has to be jetted a little more i can't remember what size it was. i loved that motor in one of the first buses i owned. 1776 dual port with a jetted out 34pict. ran like a champ set it and forget it. nobody says you have to dual carb everything.

    oil pressure sender

the oil pressure switch is just behind the dizzy there's a boot that goes around it if it's still there. you should just see the top of it sticking out the boot with a wire coming out of it. you'll have to take the rubber boot off to get to the switch. it should be a 24mm deep socket to take it...

    Oil light

if you have the remote oil filter it could be the brand of oil filter they used. i was running fram's but there was a sale on purolator filters so i tried one of those i got down the road about 12 miles and i noticed my light was on so i went home and change the filter back out to fram and the...

i don't like working on vdubs more that i have to so i never dual carb anything out. always check endplay if you can move the front pulley in and out pretty good then it's time for a rebuild. i heard those slip in case but thick on top 88mm pistons are pretty good you can do that if your endplay...

    Progress Pics - Dormobile X-Over

i'd coat the inside of the tank before i put it back in since you already have it out so it will never rust from the inside out. IMO

well i wish you lived closer to me and you could just leave it in my garage then you wouldn't have to sell it lol. i would hate to sell something that kool just because of space. if you are welling to sell this one the other buses must be amazing then.

71 Sierra Yellow, OG paint refresh

looks like another future camper in the making. you might as well keep the rear seats then. i'm not big in to yellow anything but that is a killer bus by the way. i have been watching you put it back together you will be hard pressed to find another one that nice again they are starting to get...
