    Break drum removal

You need to wind back the brake shoe adjuster. I think there is an access hole behind. If you shine a light through the access hole, you will see what looks like a small cog. Use a small screwdriver to turn this backwards and it will pull the shoes in enough to remove the drum. There are 2...

Parts For Sale Rock and roll bed with cushions

Good quality full width rock and roll bed, complete with cushions. It has been stored in my garage for nearly 5 years so will need a good clean up. Rock and roll frame has a bit of surface rust so would benefit from a repaint. Cushions need a good clean but could be used as is or...

Parts For Sale Devon pop top - Early concertina type

Here we have a Devon pop top complete with concertina bellows, seals, lifting struts and the bottom surround. It is in good condition overall but will require a good clean and the white paint is faded so will require a respray if you want it to be mint. The bellows were almost new when I...

    Help, 1600 engine won't start !

Are you definitely on TDC on no 1 cylinder? (no 1 is forward RH). The piston comes to the top of the cylinder twice, once on compression stroke then again on exhaust stroke. It’s possible you could be setting up the dizzy on the exhaust stroke, then all the ignition leads will be out of sync...

How to remove a VW t2 body

Yeah I didn’t really get your logic there static? Every resto I have done always starts with making the bodywork/chassis solid before even considering any of the mechanical stuff. No point putting a shiny engine into a rotten body/chassis.

Hi, how does this work? It doesn’t seem to have the fold up cushion piece so how do you climb in when the bed is down?

    Those hand waves.

Living in Devon and regularly travelling to the North Devon and North Cornwall coast, we see a lot of VW buses. Loads of Bays, T25’s and occasionally splitties. We always wave to anything aircooled and maybe the odd T4 if they wave first.

    Your kitchen units

They also make the same unit with the fridge on the L/H side which would work for RHD vans. If you do go for this, just check how far out your rock and roll bed comes. Mine is the standard Westy bed but I had to take about 10mm off the seat cushion to get it to fit without touching the unit when...

    Your kitchen units

Mine was from Camit designs: https://camitdesign.com/campervan-fridge-pod-023-right-hand/. Really good value. They come in pre cut kit form so you assemble it and paint it yourself. I bought the plywood one, varnished the top and painted it with cuprinol. The 023 unit fits a bay perfectly:

    Wide 5 tyres

Hi guys, Looks like I need x2 new tyres on my early bay. It has standard wide 5 steel wheels which currently have Nankang 205/70/14 tyres. What size tyres do you guys run on your standard steel wheels? My local tyre place can only get budget tyres in this size. Thank you Andy

    Cornwall 24

I’m going to North Cornwall, Padstow area this Saturday for a week in our early bay. We regularly visit this area of Cornwall as we live just up the road in Devon. Where abouts are you staying?
