Well, after 4 years of searching this forum for parts, receiving fantastic advice and generally enjoying the scene the unforeseen happened. My van engine burst into flames and the 1969 Dormobile was written off.
I read many articles advising the installation of a fire extinguisher but always...
Thanks, mine had screws on the outside of the roof to hold the wooden track in place which leaked. Thought it seemed very odd to compromise it’s water integrity!
My 1969 manual (my van year) shows the oil bath connected to a cable which disappears in the engine somewhere.
My actual oil bath has no cable going to it. The bit where it possibly connects to is missing (?) see the photo where the white area is.
I have also read that some use a wax...
Thank you boh for your help, really appreciated.
No I didn’t know that there was an inner bush as well.
I have read it’s a dangerous job to remove the spring plate due to the tension it’s under. I suspect that this is a job for a garage?
I new to doing technical repairs and have just come to replace the rear torsion arm bushing.
The problem is the old one is so worn the torsion plate plate cover won’t fit with the new one as the centre is now put!
I’ve read torsion plates are danderous so...
Is this an expensive fix and needs...
