Hi all, What engines are you guys running in your early bays? I have the choice between getting a SP & TP engine rebuilt. My van is a tin top & will needs to carry x2 adults & a 1 year old (+ all the stuff that comes with him) so not too heavy a bus. I want to be able to cruise at 65-70mph...

How was the ride/steering with the red9 beam fitted? Would you recommend it? Been looking at these for a while now but something else always crops up to rob me of any cash!

Hi all, Changed one of the heads over (1600 T1 engine) at the weekend due to a burnt valve & noticed the pistons were looking a little black! This is the first time i've done this, do they look normal? Should I clean/polish them?

Yep, been having probs for a while now on two different engines. I ran out of petrol a few months ago (sender stopped working) & when I refilled nothing came through to the filter - had to rock the van to slosh the petrol around to move whatever crap was blocking the outlet.

I have my early bay black & white bib up for sale - I brought this from spirit of the 50's some years ago - It's spent almost all of it's life off the van. Great condition - £80 collected (North London - 10mins from Junction 24 M25, 2mins from A10, A406 intersection). Will take some more...

Hi Strongy, My folks live in Mansfield so next time I head up there i'll PM you. Are they as good as everyone says? Do they reduce/stop the tramlining (only really a problem in the slow lane on motorways)?
