Bus, meet Beamer (An Electric Story)

Wonderful project! I have an i3s on lease and we are restoring our 71 too. I can't wait to see your progress with the conversion. As regards trimming seats I would budget £1500 for a nice job in leather akin to the one on the i3 FB group. My brother in law is a trimmer.

Brake Fluid Filler to Master Cylinder Hose - What is special about it?

I can attest to this, our rubber collar at the top was mushy and exploded in my face when trying a pressure bleed. luckily I wear glasses. I had to reengineer the connection with components I had around the place as "the rubbers were were beyond their useful life"

71 dormobile 1st air cooled vw

right. One side was a spline lower than the other (Doh!) Theres no rubber on the bumpstop on either side. I've evened up by upping the lower one and that seems to have sorted the clonking for now. no evidence of driveshaft inteference so I guess there may be an option to go lower later on. That...

71 dormobile 1st air cooled vw

gonna get the bum up and have a look possibly tonight, or later this week/weekend, its a little higher than the pic as I've wound the grub screws up full, but still easily clonkable by bouncing on the rear (and driving of course). I reckon I need to rotate the plate by a spline. there's no...

71 dormobile 1st air cooled vw

Thanks @ozziedog, we have severe restrictions on garage door height otherwise I wouldnt be lowering at all right now. That said I intend to lift him up a bit anyway to try to lose the clonking. There were no stops on the original (swiss cheese) beam either.

New to EarlyBay ? Say Hi here ...

Hi, sorry I should've introduced myself here prior to posting previously. We bought our 1971 Dormy 2 months ago from the eBay. it needs some love but was owned by the last owner for 17 years! Plans are afoot to derust and sympathetically restore and modify her into our family camper, ideal for...
