Hey all. Just wondering what the VW/ bus scene is like where you are ? Would you say its strong where you are or dead ? Definately dead here šŸ™.

I live in Bristol and there are loads around here but you rarely get to seem em now so much. Mostly Iā€™ll see another one or two or more if I go down to see Nick and boys at C.J. Motors but rarely otherwise. A lot seem to have changed ownership over the last couple of years to a slightly different bunch of owners and theyā€™re not just worth five hundred quid anymore so Iā€™m guessing at more keeping them locked up in barns etc. Used to be that if you were heading off to a VW type event, you would inevitably hookup with some more air cooled on the way and end up going in together but now that donā€™t seem to be the case and if you hook up with anybody en route itā€™s mostly a T( insert a big number here) more modern camper and they are rarely in the mood for a chilled out dawdle along the way, they want to get there and get there now. To me, the longer it takes, the longer Iā€™m riding in my pride and joy and that really is the best bit for me. :)
Iā€™ll still take mine out just to the shops or just to get some nice burgers or for a family visit etcetera but mostly now Iā€™ll only take him out if itā€™s nice ish and no salt down on them roads. 2019 to 2021 really had a major impact on every single area of our lives, moreso than weā€™ll ever realise even though weā€™ll be paying for it for another century and more. So get out as much as you can :)

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,Times, they are a changing :)

Whereā€™s here?
In Northumberland/ Newcastle thereā€™s a few people but meeting up is not always easy. I agree with Ozzie that you donā€™t see as many as you used to.
Hundreds of big MoHos in France though šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Gloucester. I wouldnā€™t have said there were that many around, then the other weekend there was a local meet arranged and loads of cars Iā€™d never seen before showed up.
I rarely see stuff just driving about, but then, I donā€™t drive mine about all that much so it stands to reason.

Cheltenham, no local clubs, there are a few about, I cycle past a lime-green one parked on the road every day too and from work, actually I haven't seen it for a week or so. There's a dark green one with an 8-ball wheel cover on the front I see about occasionally, I might be a late bay, which I've seen a few but not regularly, then again you don't see many classic cars.
Not surprised really, I don't drive mine that much either.

Well, suns out, day off, take my Zafira down to Nick at CJ Motors for a bit if a service. Then the Neff is taking me out for brunch in his new ā€˜Stangā€™ and then Iā€™ll be thinking, ā€œā€ I could do with umpteen litresā€ā€ and then Iā€™ll probably be looking at ads for silly cars and talking myself into it. It always starts in my head with,,,,ā€I donā€™t do many miles nowadays ā€œ So I start to remember that 6.9 Monaro, a Vauxhall badged up Aussie two door mental coupe. Then all the other ridiculous V6s and V8s Iā€™ve ever had and the Jags then Iā€™ll be wanting another 3.8s , Im not a hundred per cent sure now that itā€™s a great idea at all. Then praps go for a nice chill in my van and reassemble the parts of my brain thatā€™ve become un arranged or disarranged or deranged maybe and crack on with inventing this coolbox dispenser thingy wotnot :) This Neff is the one that got me my knife and fork set, and the latest gadget is the bottle opener that then shoots the bottle caps afterwards and a zillion other things too.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,nice day to burn a half a gallon or so :)

I secretly have been looking at a few Maseratis and that Porsche Cayenne thingy because I know I couldnā€™t bend down far enough to get in a proper one, Iā€™d have to get on my knees first and roll into it, and for me, thatā€™s not a great look..

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,WAKE UP OZZIE ,,, WAKE UP, :)

I think the green late bay is kept near the Brewery , it has a water container on the roof rack?
Thereā€™s a white late bay on London Road - never moves and is going downhill fast. Shame :(

Ah yes I remember seeing the green one there, it's like a converted church hall or something, I think there's a beetle there as well.
