Evening all, stripped top end for general maintenance and found this damage. Probably been about 4 years since last done by local ‘specialist’. Didn’t notice any real drop in power mind! Would the damage to the valve guide be a symptom or cause? Don’t know where the rest of it is😖
Sorry it’s a 1600 twin port.

I’d say the guides were probably worn and the valve slapped about within the guide, eventually breaking a piece off which found its way into the chamber and smashed around in there on top of the piston.

Thanks Karlos, the two inlet valve guides came out quite easily, the two exhaust guides were bitches, does that sound normal?
