Hi all, I've noticed that my inlet manifold part 113129701AE has a small pinhole. I'd like an original to replace as reading around it seems that new reproduction parts aren't a direct fit and need adjusting etc.
Be grateful if anyone could advise / point me in the direction of a good (un rusty / holed) direct replacement with the stamp 113129701AE
Much appreciated

I may have one of these. I can dig one out this evening for you?

Fantastic and your just up the road in Glos. Mine doesn't have the vacuum take of (he says confidently ) i'm down the road in Monmouth so could pop over and collect if you do have something Clem, much appreciated it has the VW stamp 113129701AE ....

I cycled through Monmouth yesterday!

Well I have two but one has the CA code at the end instead of AE and the other is AQ. Both have vacuum pipe take off. They would work but I understand you want the correct one . Sorry.

No way could have popped in for a brew...

Being honest I'm not sure what the Vacuum take off does exactly was it a modification would it benefit running over what I currently have on the vehicle. Thanks for advising

The vacuum take off is for buses with servo assisted brakes. When you don't run a servo you can use them with the pipe capped off.
Can the hole in your current manifold not be welded/plugged/brazed?

Bump - Still looking

Can anyone advise what the AE means and what alternatives as CLEM says above can I just fit this part and block off the pipe?

As Mr Wig and Mr Clem have said, just block it off with virtually anything rubbery. Great mod to have ready for if you ever want to fit a servo for assistance, possibly one of the best mods you could do to a bay and one that I keep rabbiting on about to get around to doing.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,, we’ll worth doin :)

Great so now to find one, would 113 129 701 AH work. Alternatively can you get new pipes and fit these thanks all.....

The other thing i was going to ask, as that looks as rusty as mine. Do people replace the pipes on these rather than go with repro

Hi I have a manifold that you are looking for only thing is it has a crack where 1 of the heat riser pipes goes in I’m guessing that it could be filled and rubbed down with some liquid metal.
I’ve attached some photos

Thanks all, mine seems as good as these guys I'm wondering therefore if I should be sticking and repairing what i have, would you know if the sections that rust out can be removed and replaced as that may also be an option?
Thanks all

Have built and repaired a lot of engines and have never had a problem fitting 'reproduction' inlet manifolds.Never had to modify. You can't buy original manifolds now they are all reproduction. Over time VW slightly changed design of manifolds hence CA and AQ but they all do the same job. If your manifold has a pin hole in it is most probably blocked up with carbon inside the rest of tube. Bite the bullet and buy a new one.

Thanks yes i was a bit phased with repro quality and reading the small print saying you have to cut and fettle to get it to fit!!! Any recommendations on quality which to get I've looked at Heritage but will take a look around over the weekend and get something ordered mine has a pinhole rust as a lot of these do, i spotted an original abroad but that also looks rusty!!!

Unfortunately you can't speak to Heritage direct ,everything is ordered online.Try JustKampers and you and you actually talk to a human being,ha ha.I don't know if you have servo brakes or not as model with servo brakes has vacuum take off.If you get one with this and not needed this can be blanked off.
