Hi all
What are you guys using as a spare when running Fuchs/foosh? I have 944 discs up front and CSP rear drums drilled at 5x130. I cannot seem to find an adaptor from 5x130 up to 5x205 (all seem to be the opposite with studs on the small pitch and recess for the bolts on the wide 5) do I just get spendy and buy a 5th Fuchs copy?

Get you home space saver from a porker breakers?
Was an option I looked at but after shipping it’s probably on par with a spare replica wheel, also a lot of the spares have a larger rolling radius ( in truth I’m wary of ordering one and it been miles off the original radius or offset) thanks though

I run fuch copies:
175/55/15 front
195/65/15 rear.

I chose a regular steel wheel as the spare:
165/80/14 which had a rolling radius near both the fronts and rears

I felt it was a good enough option to get me home

You might want to check on the legality of using a non-standard spare (i.e. one of different specification to the "normally used" identical pair of wheels & tyres on that axle) for a vehicle that was never designed to have the option of a "space-saver spare wheel!?! You could potentially be prosecuted under the "Construction & Use (Motor Vehicles) Regulations".

Things that in the real world that will never happen.

any Porsche style space saver will be nothing like the original fitted wheels and tyres so I'm happy with a regular T2 wheel and full width tyre as my spare to get me home or out of trouble if I need itScreenshot 2023-05-02 at 18.39.41.png

So to the guys that use a standard steel as a spare how are you bolting it on? Adapter? If so what breed? ☺️

I use a standard steel wheel as a spare because I run steels all round right now. The only difference is I use one with a very low profile tyre as it’s just gotta get me home. whatever you use, if your bus is modded in way, just check that it will run on each corner as it’s amazing some that won’t. So I think the suggestion was to use a steelie that will work with your existing Pitch Circle Diameter and the offset, and in your case one that will clear that calliper then maybe don’t worry too much what it looks like. So basically anything at 5 X 130 that don’t catch on nuffink and will roll you home.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,, you can get spendy spendy if you like :)

Thanks all for the constructive replys
I whimped out due to time constraints and the fear of something not fitting. Bought a 5th foosh (emailed to say I would be happy with a cosmetically damaged one for a reduced price 😉) hopefully I will offset the cost by selling my MWS Empi fives I’ve had since 96 🙂
