All ready for the maiden voyage tomorrow

Well after 6 years of standing as bare shell, within the last 3 months I’ve built myself an engine & fitted it, painted it, small amount of welding, built an interior, learned a bit about wiring! Put all the glass back in with new rubbers. The only thing I paid for was fitting the front screen.
So tomorrow morning I’m taking it out for a trip around town… feeling a bit nervous .

All went well, running lovely!!! I’ve missed this van

I’m back made it to Le man’s and back with a bit of touring in between and it didn’t miss a beat 972 miles door to door . Off again in two weeks, although that’s just a few hundred miles up the road into England. Later in the year I’m off to Amsterdam in it too.
Been keeping an accurate check on the mileage and litres I’m putting in and it’s doing 28 mpg on average. I’m happy with that

We need to get Winnie over the water sometime soon, she’s more than capable

He did Ozzie wanted to take it around the track but I was busy drinking wine in it so it was a sorry no .
Yep averaging 28 to the gallon I checked and rechecked and even put the litres and miles into an online calculator
Fully rebuilt engine (by me) kept the van light no heavy westy interior anymore and Firestone A rated fuel tyres, standard single carb… guess it all adds up

Mate, get over there it’s so much better! Roads are great, camp where ya like everybody loves campers, free water and waste disposal at the aires. Cheap wine and cheese what’s not to love !!
I’ve been to the Netherlands before so looking forward to going back for longer this time
