    Do your Kids love busses?

My girls were grown up when I got the westy. When they occasionally have a ride in the bus they sort of like it, but are a bit embarrassed by all the attention it gets :D I just have lap belts in the back, as no car seats to consider.

    Monty the Red Campervan

Thanks. It’s an Eberspacher BN4 petrol heater. Looks to have been totally restored. Apparently it was an Austrian vehicle. It was all original inside as a minibus.

    won't start when hot?

Your problem with re-starting is different to the OP’s as that sounds to be an electrical problem. Yours sounds like a carb issue. Why don’t you start a new thread with some pics of your engine so everyone knows what you have.

    won't start when hot?

Sounds like the starter motor, does it click when you turn the key. Have you tried tapping it with a hammer to see if the solenoid is stuck?

    Hi from new member

Welcome to the forum! If you are not familiar with air-cooled engines I suggest you buy a Haynes guide, or a Bentley guide or both. You will find them to be invaluable. You could start a thread about your bus and add a few more pictures. What sort of engine have you got?

    Where you live.

Where’s here? In Northumberland/ Newcastle there’s a few people but meeting up is not always easy. I agree with Ozzie that you don’t see as many as you used to. Hundreds of big MoHos in France though 😂😂😂

    Losing power going uphill

What have you set the Malpassi fuel regulator at? Also I assume you’re running a mechanical fuel pump. Has it been adapted in any way to lower the fuel pressure delivery? Seems odd you’re having problems even at slow speeds over speed bumps.

Wet patch in passenger side footwell.

Shouldn't be any water in there at all. Your best bet is to remove the floor carpet, and keep an eye if you get any more drips on the cab floor. It shouldn't be too difficult to find the source. That lever should have a round knob on the end of it. On my 1970 the brake fluid reservoir is in...

its the lever to direct the warm air to the dash or the foot outlets in the kick panels.

    Monty the Red Campervan

Thanks for all the comments ! Yes it was trouble free, the engine and gearbox work well together, I’ve done 13k miles with them now. Glad I got the carbs set up properly, and the new Litesteer was like it had always been there. The only thing I had to fix was a loose connection on the...

Had a great time on our Atlantic coast road trip through Spain and France. We got the ferry from Portsmouth to Santander then drove back north through the Basque Country into south west France. I’ve wanted to do this trip for a few years and we saw some lovely coastline along the way. I must...

Fitted Power Steering - What a difference!

Had a Litesteer EPAS fitted just before our holiday. One of the best improvements I've done for the van! Very pleased with how easy it is to drive now, mainly for parking and driving at slower speeds.
