Decided to re do the wiring for the nitrous, it was a quick job and wasn’t that neat, I also found this which is made by a company in the states. Will contain everything in little box so 1 is on the way I’ve now drawn up (badly) 😅 a new wiring diagram to work with with the control box, only...

    Best mod.... new gearbox

Lol, It wouldn’t cost me a penny sunshine …. I’m an HGV mechanic, engineer and seasoned heavy haulage driver, I’m most familiar with the rules and stipulations regarding axle & laden weights and maximum authorised mass etc as well as the regulations of modifying vehicles. My bus is MOT’d, none...

I’d say the guides were probably worn and the valve slapped about within the guide, eventually breaking a piece off which found its way into the chamber and smashed around in there on top of the piston.

Spot on Mike, people just don’t seem to grasp that bus isn’t actually that heavy and todays low profile tyres are more than suitable. I just nod and smile when they bleet on, as usual it’s the ill informed just regurgitating the bullshit they read online. Same as twin carbs being troublesome...

    Converting Oil Hoses to hydraulics?

Weber DCNF’s are an unusual choice these days. Good carbs but most people pick IDF’s.

    Converting Oil Hoses to hydraulics?

I can never stand why people put the oil filter in the engine bay, just makes a mess. That hose you’ve got is what I use for breather pipes, it’s good stuff.

    Converting Oil Hoses to hydraulics?

Use a 90 degree brass fitting and a straight npt- AN adaptor and you don’t need to touch the tinware.

    Converting Oil Hoses to hydraulics?

Here’s some of the oil lines I made up this morning for a customers bus with 1776 which I’ve had in for winter freshen up All bits from torques U.K, AN-8 Teflon pipe with stainless over braiding & anodised black fittings. Will do the cooler lines tomorrow

    Converting Oil Hoses to hydraulics?

I thought I had more pics of my oil system but I don’t 🤔😂 but you’ll get the idea AN-10 lines done with black fittings and Teflon pipe with a fabric over braid.

    Converting Oil Hoses to hydraulics?

Luke AN is the thread type, short for army/navy. Was conceived in ww2 by the American's as a joint standard on plumbing and fittings for use in the 2 services. And yes -8 etc is the size, goes from -2 all the way to -20. If memory serves the internal diameter of AN-8 is 1/2” and AN-10 is 5/8”...
