The ones I have have a 10kg breaking weight EACH! Too much I think. It is going to take some experimenting with gaps and how far to counter sink the magnets.

Thanks chaps, I think I'll use some magnets as the can be easily set into the wood. Next problem is the dimensions of the pillow holder thing. I have everything else (bar the wood).

Same deal. My head is always at the other end but the dream of using it always pops up while camping

    Westfalia Serendipity

This is lovely. I found a small bowl that almost fits (it was my nice's 'mud kitchen' bowl) but it just sits proud.

I've been all over google, bay and amazon but can't seem to find what is in my mind. The above studs look more for curtains but I would be wrong. The ones shown in this picture are much more substantial. Also, where might one get the pillow rest u-type clamps? I'm guessing the rod is around 8mm.

@chad did you have a chance to look for the window? Are you keen on selling?

@naskeet Any idea where one would find the 10mm male and female fastening studs?

    alternator for only outputting 12.8v

If I had to buy a new one (the bus needs to be reliable for the six hour journey to Glastonbury), is it wise to get the 70amp version or will it likely be a lot larger?

    alternator for only outputting 12.8v

There are no part numbers on the brush ‘module’ and I’m not keen on removing the whole alternator until I have to. Double annoying; the brushes are part of the whole module and non-removable. You need the complete unit.

    alternator for only outputting 12.8v

Can not find a spare. There is no part number on the bit I removed.

    alternator for only outputting 12.8v

And now my stereo is showing charging via the split relay. This is what set me off in the first place. I ran a pencil rubber around the inside of the alternator and some wire wool on the graphite prongs. Looks as though I need a new bit (please not a new alternator!)

    alternator for only outputting 12.8v

With everything on; lights, wipers on full and hazards, I get 13.8 v output from the alt’. Seems ok considering the above photo.

    alternator for only outputting 12.8v

No I’ve not. I jumped ahead and pulled out the contacts. One is a lot shorter which is odd. This is a hella. Does anyone know of spares?

    alternator for only outputting 12.8v

Sorry, I don’t know if it’s internal or external. I guess it’s internal as I’ve not seen a regulator while going over the bus. Also worth noting that the charging light goes out once the engine is running.
