    Fogstar Lithium battery

You use a DC to DC charger, i.e not direct from the alternator but direct from your other battery through a DC to DC charger. If you're off grid it's brilliant, charging times are much more efficient.

    Fogstar Lithium battery

I'll update the LB post soon but if you're buying a charger I'd say I recommend getting a 0-15v 500w 'adjustable charger' ( I tried copying the AliExpress link but for some reason it won't) which can be used to balance the cells. The one I got is sort of like a blue loaf of bread shape. The...

    Fogstar Lithium battery

If it's of any use/interest I wrote to a 'how to' build a lithium battery and everything that goes with it. Went on a roadtrip to Scotland this year and it was brilliant. Lithium battery build on LB

    Split Charge draining battery

I think the durites are VSR = voltage sensing so after MB is happy then the LB then gets its charge but the voltage is kept stable. I wouldn't be so quick to junk the durite. If the MB was fully charged then the durite wouldn't 'leak' anything to your MB as its already got full charge. Those...

    Split Charge draining battery

I had a similar problem with my setup that under certain circumstances the link between the 2 batteries was being held open. Its a by problem of all the other things you might have installed (it was for me anyway) I can't recall why I had the issue, I've got my head into lithium battery build...

    Leisure electrics part 2.

enter lithium battery, game changer. ! I built a lithium battery, they have really low internal resistance and charge as fast as what you throw at them e.g if you had a 100a alternator you could charge a 100a lb in an hour from zero. It's not as perfect as that but you get the idea. So assume...

Wiring in original US camping 110v to UK spec

Yes, did mine as well and it's fine. I routed the back into a standard camping RCD (3 plugs with a fuse trip) then 1 goes to my fridge, one to a inside double socket and third one is for a charger or extra fridge.

Rear corner speaker panel for a Bay?

If you've thought about hanging speakers this was one of my lockdown projects. I made it using a wooden floor panel from b&q (which b&q gave me as a free sample - bonus!) The speakers are 6x9 with amp under the front seat. The middle section gives a bit of extra storage space too.

    Replacement Front Seats

I'm tall, I fitted daihatsu hijet seats which have a low squab, had them recovered, and had a extension welded to then to give more support under my legs which was easy enough.

    Solar Panels

Hi Coda, did you look at a DC-DC charger , they're quite pricey for a 60A but I might go the whole way. Were the cells easy enough to join (solder?) and how did you spec the BMS? Asking because this is the sept/Oct 'job'. Also did you house the cells or leave exposed? Pg

    Solar Panels

Might also be worth looking into lithium leisure battery. That's a game changer from people I've spoken to. One said if he had not installed solar he wouldn't have bothered once he realised what lithium was capable of I think it really boils down to how long you plan to be off grid and what...

    LHD/RHD conversion

I thought the same when I got my bus, a LHD, apart from that it was perfect..... but.. .. it is actually really ok, you get used to it being LHD quite quickly. If the conversion was straightforward maybe I would still do it but it isn't, it's s hell of a job and now I've had the bus as long as...

Fuses on split charge leisure battery setup

Also something I have found and solved recently on VSR (voltage sensing relay) if you have different batteries, like AGM LB and lead acid MB there can be cross over as the LB might hold the relay open (I charge from LB side on shore power and if I disconnected my MB the relay held open creating...

    Decent quality aerial?

I installed a Pure Highway DAB 400 which has worked really well, you attach the aerial inside the window top just behind mirror so nothing needed on outside. Our radio reception was never great but now I can get DAB and also bluetooth phone to it to play MP3 or whatever I want. It works by...
