    This looks promising. I hope these photos post. We had a meeting today, more splits than bays and only one other early bay. We were lucky with the weather.

    It only came with the one table from new. The bed is a bit tricky. The 2 single seat backs slide up and out of the seats. They then lay across between the bench seat and the base of the single seats. The table then fits in between to fill the gap. It can move around a bit if the van starts a...

    The pop top is an original extra. Has your sunlander got a Sunlander badge on the front in the middle of the grill or has the van been re sprayed ?

    I have sent some pics of inside to Mike. He posted the pics you see here. Maybe he can post those for me too. All my pictures are too big so i had to Email them.The inside is totaly original. I have spoken to David Eccles and he said he has only come across 5 Sunlanders in the last 15 years...

    Can you let me know how many RHD bays were built in year Aug70-Jul71 or were I can find out. Are there any copies of the VW type 2 microfiche archive on the web or are they like rocking horse s...t.

    I have that artical. It was winter 04 Issue 17. I have read through and he doesnt mention numbers. 2000 seems quite high. That would mean the factory turning out nearly 40 Sunlanders a week as well as the more popular Moonraker. Did they have the space for 150 or so vans a week?

    Does any body out there have any idea how many campers Devon were turning out in 1970/1971. How big was their factory ? I have a Sunlander, you might have seen it in the Gallery,. They only made them in 71 and the most popular model was the Moonraker that year so there cant be many Sunlanders...

    The reversing lights were fitted by vw as an extra when the van was new. I have only seen one other with them on.
