Don't get a fibreglass one, sure it won't rust but it also won't do its job as a bumper, they're not just cosmetic and with zero crumple zones/airbags etc a good steel bumper is all you have... S.

That loop over the steering column would solve the problem.

I can get mine off with the padlock on too. the long thin pedal arms are quite flexible when you push them hard apart in opposite directions. Remember a thief won't be gentle with it, they'll be very rough, mine comes off with 7/10 effort. Simon.

Lock Barrel received thanks again for splitting it. Would you mind taking a few more pics of the sliding door handle please, need to know how much corrosion there is around the tiny grub screw for removing the lock barrel. Mine is so corroded i can't get the barrel out, and i don't have a key...

Just doing mine at the moment and I have donor-barrel that had been screwdriverd at some point so will definitely have some left over, are your handles original or repros? The barrels/wafers are different sizes. Simon.

Are the handles original ones? Do they have the VW logo stamped next to the part no.? Also where are you based? Cheers, Simon

Not JustKampers, the part that bolts to the roof is plastic (not metal as the originals are) so very easy to snap them when fitting, also the angle bend in the metal rod is different to the original, so trying to persuade it to engage with the clip can snap them, as mine did. JK told me to go...
