    hi i changed mine today if the lever is at 9 o'clock when fitted then the crank bit on other side of plate is pointing at 12 0'clock so let the lever fall to 6 then the cranks should at 9 o'clock give it a wiggle then roll it out clockwise and it should come out i take it is undun at gearbox end

    dvla said that i should contact vw to make a replacement plate think their getting confused dont think vw would make a replacement engine side panel with my chassis num in?must be talking about ally plate behind seat which is where the mot bloke got the vin number from last mot
