    Empi 5 spoke

What Nigel says above is correct, but with the Red9 system the beam is narrower than stock even when fitted with the wide5 adaptors. If you are running 5x112 then its narrower still. I've ran these wheels but cant find a picture, feel free to trawl through my gallery thread though

My 68 Westy - as time goes by .....

I went there for a drive out in the van back last year with the fam, although I liked the cobble street hill with the shops, and the real nice French restaurant at the top, the carpark I stopped in was like a rubbish dump and I was actually shocked when I returned and the bus was still there tbh...

    Alternator

Just go for the cheapest, no point having high output unless you have dozens of electrical/electronics in the van, they also wear belts quicker, trust me I know lol Worth ringing Bristol Auto Electrical to see what they say about re-winding yours, and Sparx whilst your at it

    Spring Valley Bus meets Corvair

Thanks for the heads up. Viton seals are a no-no for rotating parts apparently, in the corvair world anyway, really not sure why mine only last around 4-5yrs but I’m guessing they are Chinese origin. I can’t get them in the uk so rely on parts suppliers in the USA who will ship internationally...

    Spring Valley Bus meets Corvair

So It looks like the crank seal is leaking again on the Corvair motor, looking back I changed it in 2020, fairly easy job to replace but it is an engine out job, clutch and flywheel needs to be removed along with the alloy housing that holds the seal and the oil pan, so quite a few seals...

    Brakes!!!!!

Cant you just give everything a clean and a paint, change the discs and pads, I would have thought if the calliper was sticking it would be the flexi that's fault maybe? Depends on the state of everything once cleaned and inspected. '71 use the smaller callers I believe, maybe see if you can...

    Parts Wanted Subaru conversion parts??

I used my local Longlife for my bespoke Corvair exhaust, they had it done in a morning and cost something like £200,

    Outside Gas shower.. ideas.

They work really well in hotter climes, my dad has one in his garden in Spain, you'd be surprised, nothing fancy needed just a black tube and the sun. The tube is pressurised with a pump just like the windscreen washers on your bus..... Plenty of youtube videos showing you how to make one out of...

    Spring Valley Bus meets Corvair

seeing as the sun was shining I took the van to Swindon on Saturday for a meet up with friends to walk the dog, nice 80 mile round trip, was running late on the way and had to blast along the M4 at a steady 70 which I don’t normally do but it does run fantastically well, plenty of torque for...

    An inspection calls…

Also to help you, buy from someone who has owned the vehicle a long time, they are more likely to be honest about the good and bad points. Be careful of fresh paint as it normally covers a whole load of problems that will appear in 6months time, in fact the scruffier the paint is the more you...

    Outside Gas shower.. ideas.

I like the idea of these solar pressurised containers to hang on the gutter, much more reliable in continental Europe but still effective using nothing more than the sun...

    Fuel lines

Thanks for the input, I would love to fit some solid lines in the engine bay and make the whole job look neater but not sure I have the tools, skill or patients in all honesty! I think I must have used 6mm last time to connect to the carbs because they always leak unless I use a sealant with...

    Fuel lines

Anyone changed their fuel lines recently, mine have been on for around 9 years but look in great shape, but I have a plastic filter under the tank I need to replace so thinking of doing it all. Trouble is I have a Huco pump, in-line metal filter, fuel cut-off valve, Tee-piece to supply both...

    CB Radio

We tested these rigs on Saturday and managed to get 2miles of range, this is in a suburban area in Bristol rather than on a straight motorway so thought that was pretty good. Certainly more than enough for a roadtrip convoy
