    Camping heat, gas or diesel????

Yes I am looking for tucked away locations, as ever space is a premium, glad to hear no Diesel smells if we go that route.

    Camping heat, gas or diesel????

Thanks for the reply. Did you have to modify the cab seat or is there enough room under it as is? That sounds interesting, had never thought of that. Unfortunately I have our leisure battery in the engine bay below the wheel well, I will have to look at other locations, who do you get to make a...

    Camping heat, gas or diesel????

As we like to use our van early and late in the season and as much as possible, we are going to fit / have fitted heating over the winter. Despite everyone seemingly advising to fit a diesel heater and most say Chinese are ok and value. Two things I can’t get my head to come to terms with - 1)...

    T2 Geometry

My wife and daughter just did the NC 500 plus a few places on the way, 2,450 miles with no signs of front tyre wear on return, previously it would have been very obvious over that distance, so looks like a fix.

    T2 Geometry

Ok, firstly I would highly recommend Mark at Auto Techniks in Banstead, Surrey - When I arrived he spent time with me going through the bus whilst on the ramp and quickly demonstrated that the bushes in the front beam were shot. This was causing movement in the front wheels and hubs with the...

Sliding door rubs on rear wheel arch

I am reliably informed I can use either 1mm or 2mm aluminium sheet with vinyl wrapped directly onto it so it should be circa 3mm thick which I hope will solve my problem. Will remove existing card am make sure this will give me the clearance before I do the work. I haven’t got the bus at the...

Sliding door rubs on rear wheel arch

I am going to do as you say and if there is enough clearance without the door card I am going to make one out out of aluminium sheet with just vinyl cover, no foam, although I will have to wait until my wife returns from a planned trip she has. I will report back, promise!

    Front camber

Gary, you had the opposite problem to what I have (and still do) I changed to an adjustable beam to lower her front modestly and then had the geometry set up by someone I ‘trusted’ and fitted new wheels and tyres at the same time. Over the next 1,500 miles miles it scrubbed off the outer edges...

Sliding door rubs on rear wheel arch

I have fitted a slimmer door card than it came with but it still has scrim foam in it, think I am just going to try a plain card see if that does enough, thank you for your help. I will report back if I am successful.........

Sliding door rubs on rear wheel arch

I know I am becoming a sliding door 'bore' sorry! It is my wife's bus and I have been tasked with getting the door to open properly !

Sliding door rubs on rear wheel arch

Thank you very much so looks like there is an 'A" and a 'B' version with the former fitting all years. Odd thing is the 'A'version looks exactly like the ones on Heritage and Just Kampers which they describe as '75 - '79?? Back to the idea of purchasing two U bracket pieces and cut and welding...

Sliding door rubs on rear wheel arch

I want to buy just two u hinges not the whole bracket to fit to my original centre slider bracket, Schofields (the only ones you can telephone now) are telling me the U shaped bitty have will only fit '75 and on centre slider brackets but I am not convinced. Do you have a part number please for...

Sliding door rubs on rear wheel arch

Hello Clem, Your suggestion sounds like a great idea! Funnily enough when I originally posted this thread I wondered whether the u-brackets were available in different lengths for different years / arch shapes with earlier bays having far slimmer arches than '71 onwards? I have looked on all...

    Where does this go??????

Ah, ok thank you, guess I have a spare buffer then!

    Where does this go??????

Could anyone explain where this goes ? Heritage buffer I have been servicing my sliding door and replaced all the buffers and saw this on Heritage so bought is and thought it’s position would be obvious when I had it in my hand but it’s not! Says online it fits on the leading edge near lock...

Sliding door rubs on rear wheel arch

Sorry for the delay, I have removed the door and have cleaned and lubricated the centre hinge , replaced the nylon runner block and the rubber stops. All is clean and free of play and smooth operating. Here are the pictures tonight. I am coming the conclusion that the arch has been made too...

Sliding door rubs on rear wheel arch

I will get her out and take some photos tomorrow and put them up. One thing that interest me is should the slider run parallel with the body when opened? Mine doesn’t it is much closer at the front end of the door as you will see tomorrow. I have adjusted the top and bottom roller out and it I...

Sliding door rubs on rear wheel arch

The U hinge seems to rotate to 90° from the body and there does not appear to be much play in the door or hinge?

Sliding door rubs on rear wheel arch

The sliding door on our RHD 1971 bay rubs on the rear wheel arch. I thought it was due to the door card having too much scrim foam in it, so today I replaced it with a slimmer version but after a lot of effort it still rubs. The door fit is good but it just doesn’t pop out far enough to clear...

    T2 Geometry

Hello, thanks for the contact, I have had a good conversation with Mark at Autotecniks this morning and he can set her up the old school way and thinks he knows what our problem could be that is not allowing us to adjust her to zero camber. I am feeling confident having spoken to him that he can...
