    How long ?

Forum is international, and actually US owned now. Lots of American friends on here. No need for the capitalisation of ‘English’.

How to remove a VW t2 body

I reckon you could source a solid shell easier/cheaper than you could undergo a restoration that requires a body separation.

    T2 Geometry

Maybe contact Auto Techniks in Surrey and see what they say. Not much you can do with the rear end other than make sure its all tight and in place. Front end is camber and toe in, its a case of finding some one who knows what do do and is willing to do it. Obvious ostrich I know, but as I have...

How to remove a VW t2 body

Zero point doing any of that mechanical work if the body and chassis are rusted away.

    Those hand waves.

First time I went to Cornwall in a bug, the roads were full of bugs and surfers in kombis ... great times and constant waving. The last trip to that sort of area (Croyde) the roads were clogged up with T6's, Tesla's and Range Rovers.

    Front tyres scrubbing outside edges

When I first got my flipped spindles, Paul @ T2D advised setting maximum camber was the way forward. I still ended up scrubbing some tyres whilst I went on a journey of tracking setting but got there in the end. reversing toe in and using guages in reverse as the van was too low to do it...

    68 only Sun Visors

Nice to see you get the correct visors, and nice to see the visors get a correct home.

How to remove a VW t2 body

I’d have a look at Irvs Restos social media feeds as he separates/rebuilds barndoor buses in this way. As said, it’s a pretty extreme road to go down and, as big a bay fan as I am , I’d have to question if its worthwhile?

    Westy hatch lock

From what I have read it was an option for Westys between 1968 and 1971. People state it was discontinued for safety reasons - kids opening and falling out? - but that seems to be assumption rather than fact.

    Those hand waves.

I only used to wave to other air cooled vehicles, but these days given the rarity of an old bus on the road I acknowledge anyone who waves or gives a thumbs up. I just see it as politely accepting a compliment. Best wave I ever had was after being followed by the police for a few kilometres in...

    Bus Fest Malvern

ABVWOC waived the fees through the last couple of years due to the lack of shows in Covid etc. so there hasn’t been much spent , and it’s only £40(?) a year, I think. It’s just to cover the event of (for example) someone getting clobbered by one of our flags should it fall down etc …. very low...

    Rear air intake paint.

I didn't mean to sound flippant, but, as said previously, it should be upper body colour and that wasn't ever black from the factory. So, unless you've painted the bus black or its part of a cunning paint scheme plan, then I would stick with the principle of matching to upper body colour.

    No.

    Tyre advice

When I was lowered I had to let my insurers know the details of modifications , part of this was telling them the size of the wheels and size of the tyres fitted. They then accept the risk (or not) and then issue the policy. They wouldn’t then be able to nullify the policy on that basis. It’s...

    Potential fake buyers

Just to clarify this, now there has been a thread update. I meant the comment generally, not specifically and had no information on the background. As an aside, the best deals I’ve done selling higher mileage cars on eBay was to folk who sent badly written offers without seeing the car. I’d...

    Bus Fest Malvern

PLI requirements for clubs has been a thing for about 10 years now and why the club affiliation was kept up. I’m not aware of it ever being checked, used or claimed against but it all keeps the paperwork in order 😂

    Tyre advice

Worth going through tyres sites and looking at specifications on tyres to get the best balance of road noise, fuel efficiency, weather suitability etc. Once you look at load ratings etc you'll soon see that many many modern car/suv tyres are perfectly acceptable on a bus.

    Potential fake buyers

The internet is full of them, nowhere is safe!

finish for the baltic birch interior panels

68 and 69 were just coated I think, I have a good match of the stain , not to hand though. Later vans had a lime/white wash coating
