    Sitting issues

Hi Oz Just reading back on this I am beyond appalled that you, with or without malice aforethought invited , nay pressured , both Gaz and another ( Sproggy ) ? To rest their clearly weak and fragile bodies in what you now clearly accept was akin to a potential deathtrap. This despite you...

    Winnie - Our 1970 Bay

Matty, looking at the photo I really do feel ( irrespective of engine ) a bit intimidated. You mentioned that you are on 15 inch wheels , mine are 14inch., I am loathe to swap now as my tyres are good but looking to the future are there any problems with me running to 15 inch.? I’ll take a...

    The best awnings ?

Had one from Olpro, a load of rubbish, ended up with a full refund from them via my bank on a consumer credit act claim. Avoid them, they misleadingly give the impression they are manufactured in GB the aren’t China as per. Bought a top me from Vango, so much better quality. May consider selling...

Rang and spoke to one of the sons who said “ yes please go to workshop and he would tell them to expect me” put postcode in and it took me to their house where the son spent best part of an hour discussing. Very...

Thanks Yes when I first got the van I was on the way to France, broke down on the way to Chunnel . lo and behold Mike pulled up behind, great bloke. We didn’t sort it then but I limped 1 k around France then booked a course with Mike and spent a lovely evening camping in his garage ! Then a...

Wow , thanks for that. Nobody has suggested that . when you say “ stretch “ do you mean wallet or technical ability. First option may have marginally better chance than the second . Any info on what I should be looking for and the problems I may encounter. thanks

Change from solex 30 pict 3 to solex 34 pict 3

I think it must be an adaptor as without it there wouldn’t be enough clearance from the alternator. Probably more of a spacer than an adaptor really. on the subject of going from a 30 pict 3 to a 34 it seems that a 34 won’t fit on a single port. My 30 doesn’t utilise the vacuum but I’ve had a...

Change from solex 30 pict 3 to solex 34 pict 3

Thanks. 1. The fuel filter was put there temporarily to assess an intermittent fault aI was experiencing with my fuel cut off solenoid which is beneath the van and close to the fuel tank. I could then see whether it was working without constantly pulling a hose off. 2. I think you may have...

    Burning smell

Had a similar experience about 6 weeks ago. Distinct burning smell, travelled about 1/4 mile. At a junction it stalled, terrible screech when trying to turn over engine. Then no turn over at all, this was due to the alternator ( only 2 years old and 6k miles ) totally seized up. Took fan belt off...

    Insurance - again

When you say “ good result” do you mean a low premium or have you experienced good claim handling? as far as I know they use “Markerstudy” as underwriters ….google their Trustpilot result ! 96% awful

    Insurance - again

+1 for avoiding Adrian Flux, they are bad in themselves but the underwriters they use “ Markerstudy” are absolutely useless, last time I looked they (underwriters ) had a 96%awful 2% good rating! Problem is Markerstudy probably quote low ( as reflected in performance) this enables AF to get more...
