    Insurance

I use Heritage insurance, this they're based in Birmingham. Agreed value (although it's been on the drive the last 5 years so may need to get that updated). Price has remained similar, around the £120-130 mark since 2011. Not sure if it's normal for classics, but it's a 1 year policy and doesn't...

Not been since 2018, with bus or as a visitor. Busiest and Camperjam were our main family shows each year. Would be interested to here opinions.

    Drum Spindles, dropped or otherwise

Thanjs Nigel. Re 70-72 and 73on calipers I found this on the samba: The major differences between the two brake systems are highlighted in Bentley, Chapter 8, Page 15. The 73 and later models have a larger brake caliper and 14mm rather than 10mm thick pads. The caliper mounting bolts increased...

    Drum Spindles, dropped or otherwise

Thanks Sparky, really appreciate that. I have some standard early disc spindles 70/71. If you let me know what you're measuring I can check them. Alex from t'haus mentioned the calipers fowling the mount somehow. Also said the old school kit he saw used the back plate mounts to mount the...

    Drum Spindles, dropped or otherwise

Hi Clem, Been a while (Seattle Metro plate frame 👍) Not asked them direct but had checked their website. They have KnL drop spindles and the CSP porsche kit, also the adapter bearing kit to fit 944 n/a or turbo on their site. Guess and email won't hurt. Have asked Transporterhaus too. Actual...

    Sitting issues

Had to zoom in to see the name. As a fellow fat/old bloke that totally gets leaning on the arms, was interested to see what you got. Carpzilla - is the cover removable and does it double as some kind of fish dinosaur outfit for the fancy dress 🤣🤣

    How obsessed ?

I'm definitely an air intake sniffer and always listening for new noises when driving it. That and a change in how it feels. Externally I'm not to fussed, it's still in its original paint, battle scars and all. But naturally I have a huge list of jobs I'll get round to doing one day.

    Drum Spindles, dropped or otherwise

Thank you for the response Velgreeno. I did find a post from Transporterhaus asking for people's opinion if they were to manufacture new forged drop spindles, both discs and drum. I can find forged disc ones but not drum. I know drum were also only for a couple of years. And if it required 2 to...

    Drum Spindles, dropped or otherwise

Hi all, So the question. Where sells earlybay dropped drum spindles? Checked a multitude of posts here and on other forums but not got a clear answer. Most end up on pages advising of dropped spindles that use late bay disc/calipers for your drum bus. Parts for sale are all sold long ago...

Supplier for 944 hub bearing spacer

I've been researching the same thing. Had the whole set up years ago with full porsche 944 n/a and knew it could be done on stock/dropped drum spindles. Just never got round to it and sold the bits (luckily not the wheels). I've just bought the full 944 n/a legs again; hubs, discs and calipers...

Sold For Sale - Porsche 944 front hubs

No worries, assumed as much. I checked out the thread to see how you were setting them up, as it seems things have changed since I first looked into it back then

Sold For Sale - Porsche 944 front hubs

Hey Sparky, are these the ones you've ended up using on the Neptune Blue bus, did they sell or do you have spares 🙂 After way to much thinking I ended up selling my 944 na legs, now wishing I hadn't given prices now 944s are reaching tax exempt. Finally going full porsche stud pattern and do all...

Welcome to the club, get it usable, everything else you can fix as you go. It becomes a lifelong project, and if its driving its way more enjoyable

    1967 Neptune Blue Deluxe

Great work so far, remember following your other bus thread. Great motivation that you just crack on with stuff by whatever means necessary and get the results. I know it's too late now, but I've stripped out mine for a Refit. Found the best thing for getting the glue residue off from horsehair...

    Roof repair section - Heritage

Thanks Sparky, I'd seen these but they look like ex-Westy as they have rivet holes all round the opening. There's a couple on fleabay to but look rough. Just realised Autocraft do a similar repair panel, literally 20 mins away an they have a summer sale. Will try and head over next week to have...

    Roof repair section - Heritage

Thanks Ozzie for your advice. I've been looking on the Samba, full roof is $3-500 minus shipping. Looking here at the usual places it's way way more. The rest of my roof is fine, so need to find someone to share an og roof with 😀

    Roof repair section - Heritage

It was actually holed/rusted through in places when I got it. I just stuck some duct tape over it for a year or two (remnants still on the sunroof panel). As mentioned, the place I used to repair were meant to replace the rot with all new steel. They clearly didn't, looks like they flattened the...

    Roof repair section - Heritage

Its literally just the length of the sunroof up to and including the feature line, both sides, gutters are fine. I've fully stripped the headlining and it mat also need some internal work to strengthen it
