rusty old nail to sow's ear

Awesome pics from Ninove I wasn't keen on those wheels when I saw them, but on your bus they look well cool. Knowing how much work/time you spend on it and the fact you don't spend £1K's its even more impressive

That's where the overflow for the oil filler goes, should be a pipe running down with a rubber non return valve on it you can see the pipe here under the filler cap

Fabian Cancellara won Paris-Roubaix on motorised bike rumor

The same rumour came up straight away when Ryder Hesjedal fell off in the Vuelta http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xN_RbZN51oY" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Cus the back wheel kept spinning when he fell over, catapulting the bike into one of the motor cyclists

    Ignition switch and barrel

Not sure on a link, but you need a alan key bent with a little hook. there should be a hole in the shroud in which you can poke around. Basically it has a little retaining pin inside that needs to be pressed to get it out I found it easier to take the steering wheel off as it just kept getting...

    1971 - YRY483J -Restoration

Fair play to you for taking it on, you understand the work and happy to accept it so its all good. I had a bus in a sorry state too, but once you've accepted all you can see, and where it will end then its a goer. Nothing is impossible if you believe it. Here's my rebuild thread up until...

The cables and white plastics parts (with the exception of the cog cover), handle and a few other bits are available from EIS in the states. A few places here do them but the proce mark-up is a fair wack http://www.eisparts.com/BCP/Sunroof+Parts.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return...

How to fit Porsche Wheels on an Earlybay (71)

Just refound this thread, still running on original wheels despite all the above. Sold the 944 front hubs /calipers/disks etc but still got adapters, a set of 6" and 7" teledials, and a spare set of rear drums/hubs/axels. At the time I was looking at these options the cost of redrilling the...

What did you do with your early bay today

After being a front runner for the Ice Bucket Challenge but using rain water and my sunroof cavity, I spent most of Sunday with various bits of welding wire, 7amp cable, 35amp cable and a bottle of bleach unblocking my sunroof drain holes. All are now clear and after reading a previous post on...

The Fire Bay - Video Volks

Nice video, and fair play for getting it back on the road. I did think about did the same with my bus after the fire, even just for show use, but to be honest their wasn't an unwarped panel left and it was pretty distorted so wouldn't have got the glass in: Almost all the ally parts in my...

    Spot light brackets-please read.

as above, I had some of the Doris ones but never used them in the end, and wouldn't have a clue where they are now. Nothing to do with quality etc, they did exactly what they were meant to do. I don't see why you cant make them for yourself they were like a Big ?, with the light bolting to the...

    Alternator belt size?

Got a similar issue and done a bit of reading lately, apparently the bigger belt 912 is also wider, reason being when upgraded to a alternator the thinner Genrorator 900 belt kept breaking. However as your pulley wears, when you put the bigger belt on it slipps down a bit and ends up loose...
