New bay jack bag and tool roll

Thanks for the input guys. This will be heading for the 'For Sale' area soon. Ill get back to this post when it does. I'll make a few more, try to work out a fair price and post a sample of colours to choose from. That way I can make to order for any who want one. They'll go on E Bay after...

    Fuel hose quality

Hi guys, R9 hose is for fuel injection really and I found the OD to be too big for my mechanical fuel pump connections. To meet the SAE J30 R9 spec it is reinforced for FI pressures usually meaning the acceptable bend radius is bigger, making it harder to route. I used a combination of 6mm...

    Pulley problems!

I know this is an old thread but... I agree Peter, maybe these cheapo pulleys are under-sized and thinner than stock? Some may not have had this issue yet especially if they fitted a new belt, but when their belt starts to stretch and they remove a shim or two... That new one is the same as my...

New bay jack bag and tool roll

Thanks bud, I plan to make more soon. Not sure on price but it will be reasonable. I dont want to make a fortune, just cover the materials and a little something for my time. I didn't know they made a jack bag originally. I have seen the tool rolls though and they look to have been made from...

    Perfect tool bag

Nice 1 ozzie. I have a huge 24" cantilever toolbox which has really got to go. That bag is nice, it looks like a copy of 'Husky Tools' bag only half the price. Check out my new post on a tool roll and jack bag. I would value your opinion dude. Cheers Dave

New bay jack bag and tool roll

Hi all, I wanted an original style tool roll for my bay and looked around the web at was was available today. I found some way overpriced stuff imported from the states but could make better myself for far less. The original tool rolls are mostly fallen to bits or missing from bays and i've...

    Dash top paint code

L041 is correct. Best to get it in a satin finish as the gloss often looks awful and will reflect onto the windscreen on sunny days. Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk

    J tubes

My '72 1600 has amazing stock heating. It works well with plenty of heat and air flow when correctly assembled and not holed. Why get rid of the free heating you already have and spend a fortune on a separate heater, which takes up space and more fuel? Summer mornings can be cold and let's not...

    Repair Panel Quality

I bought my cab steps from Schofield as they weld in a strengthening plate and the nuts for mounting the bumper. They only charge a few quid more and it saves a lot of time/cutting/drilling/welding. I had heard good things about them. However, they don't fit any better than any of the others...

    High beam problems

Pull the relay out. Tap it with a hard screwdriver handle or similar a few times then refit and test. Sometimes they stick and you can free them up. It won't last forever but will give you time to find a good replacement. Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk

    Wanted bug aerial

You can get a blank that fills the hole. Use silicone to seal though as they aren't a tight fit Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk

    Heat exchangers wanted.

Try a look on eBay for a guy called "bigshedofvwspares' he may have some as he breaks engines. He's in Devon so you'll need to pay postage but would still be way cheaper than new. Cheers Dave Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk

    Curtain hooks for 1971 Danbury

Hi, they are called "Silent Gliss". You can get compatible ones from JK or original if you search around. Good luck Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk

    jubilee clips ?

My 2 penneth from real experience- Firstly, vw never fitted clips on fuel hoses at all on older aircooled engines. They were a correct, tight fit and they didn't leak. Modern hoses are constructed differently so need clamps to ensure a good seal. A fuel hose meets the standards that are printed...

    Drum brake star adjuster tool

Small prybar every time and my backplate access holes are huge after someone tried to force the seized adjusters and deformed them. Might be worth removing the adjusters and cleaning them up or replacing them. Put a little coppaslip on the threads and the barrels on reassembly and they should...

    Dash fire!!! UPDATE, not happy!!

That's ****. It sounds like the issue was his lack of skills and even basic common sense! Is the loom that is fitted now melted or damaged? If not then you could download a wiring diagram and work your way round one item at a time. All the cable colours are specific to their purpose and...
