I tried a couple of belts available from the usual suppliers for my Bosch alternator, but neither seemed to fit correctly. I ended up guessing a few mm less to try and get a better tension and ended up with a 10 x 888mm V Belt from EuroCarParts.

It sounds like yours is really stuck, so I am not sure if it would work, but I've used a piece of decking wood, shaped to fit in the end of the valve, then tapped on the end of the wood with a mallet to get it 'stuck' in the end of the valve, then I gave it a slight twist and pull to get it out...

I've also read that over tightening the belt will wear the bearings on the Alternator / Dynamo, so yes, slack it off!

Interesting, although it makes sense. For the people mile munching, EVs still need to be developed more before they would even be close to suitable, however, I think if most 'normal' people calculated the actual daily milage they do, they would be surprised, I doubt most people do over 50...

I love the Middle of Lidl, the tools are mostly made in China BUT to German specification, so they are very strict with what Chinese company makes them which keeps the quality medium-good for the cost. I bought one of their Compressor accessory kits in the summer, but I have no compressor...

Thanks! They are Speedhut gauges from America mounted on a welded dash and a custom loom to make everything run from toggle switches. :D A cruise control switch would really finish it off though :lol:
