If there was something that I could get to easily enough from York I’d be up for a Christmas something, there’d be at least a couple of EBs from here that would come.

I have the throttle kit, was it as easy to fit as it says? I need to crack on and do that over winter.

I think Ozziedog has hit the nail on the head here, warm them up a bit and it'll be easier, they'll become that tiny bit more pliable and it sounds like you only need a tiny bit :)

Welcome back to aircooled driving! Lovely bus! You'll soon get used to it and want to drive it every day, I have a beetle daily as well as my early bay and I doubt I'll ever go back to driving anything else ;) Enjoy!

Last I heard was that there is a longer wheelbase but we aren't getting it here in the UK, they do seem really small - I saw one in the Wolfsburg VW museum a few years back, not bothered looking at them since. I'll be sticking to my more environmentally friendly early bay ;)

Funny you say that, mine is original paint with a few dents etc here and there and yet I still hate anyone parking next to me. Have you some photos of yours? I'd agree with what Clem said above to be honest. I regularly get asked when I'm going to paint/restore mine - I won't be, I love that...

I've been thinking about doing this for a while, grab a ferry over direct to Spain and drive around. The ferry is really expensive but could be worth it, I haven't been to north west Spain and would love to explore in my EB, maybe even a one way ferry and drive back through France.
