    Stock exhaust question

If you decide to weld it, I would weld a flange onto exhaust pipe first then weld the flange to the silencer.

    Air in brake system

First get a Gunson brake bleeding kit, cheap as chips. You need to bleed your brakes start with the one furthest away.

    Engine Lift

Hi Andy, that sounds fair enough the leak aint gonna get any better and it will only get worse and as you say it gives you something to do over lockdown. I was getting bored and its too cold in the garage so I bought a Ossa over Christmas and stuck it in my front room to give me something to do...

    Engine Lift

I assume you have a oil pressure gauge to check oil pressure rather than relying on the dash light. Do you need to drop the engine?

    New wing mirror?

I think the thread on the repro ones is the same length at least they were on mine, the problem is with the repro nut. On the original it is recessed so the threaded part goes in further, so I got a mate with a lathe to recess the 'crappy' repro nuts like the original which worked. :D

    Seat springs for repair...

Use some copper sheet, some old water pipe flattened out would do, a soldering iron may do the job or one of those mini blow torch thingys.
