If you have to drill it and the material is case hardened, one old trick is use a masonary drill with a carbide tip, sharpen it up - its worked for me in the past.

My guess is its the idle jet that is blocked. The first 1/4 of the throttle is the idle, then 1/4 to 3/4 is idle and needle and the final quarter is main jet. So if you have been floorboarding it then the engine would flood via the main jet. probably wrong usually am :D Good luck - it will be...

Mine works great and very little resistance, I would think maybe there is dirt in your runners making it sticky or maybe the fabric it is covered in is a bit too thick?

Why not just use a trickle charge plugged in or use a solar panel charge plugged in then it keeps your battery at its optimum. :stonehim:

Possibly indicator stalk is cruddy, you could try spraying it with electrical contact cleaner?
