I had an issue where every hill I went up the engine got hotter and just died, turned out to be the fuel pump rod getting hot and expanding getting stuck in the bake-light sleeve. Replaced this rod with an old one and haven’t had the problem since. Sounds like your engine still idles though...

Do you get a click in the starter solonoid? It’s the small barrel attached to the starter. If that’s on the way out when you turn the key in the ignition you’ll get a fairly loud click in the back of the bus but the starter won’t turn over. After trying a few times with the key eventually and...

Have you checked your timing? Sounds like that May be out. I’d check valves, timing and coil spark.

Are the original Blue Bosch coils made in Germany still for sale? The silver Beru doesn’t seem to be good or last for long. If it’s been starting hard I’d defo switch if for a good blue. Good luck and keep us updated please.

Your throw out bearing clips are there and in good order, I can’t remember anything that would require this in that part of the gearbox or clutch assembly in the engine. Thrown in as little rattling surprise I guess 😄
