Help me with my UK registration woes

I believe so? It should say Notification of Vehicle Arrivals on it. Clearly I'm no expert though!

Help me with my UK registration woes

Cheers, yeah the bloody trader told me that was all I needed but I think you're right! Hopefully this will get me around the problem.

Help me with my UK registration woes

Okay, an update in case it helps someone else: Some random googling and the DVLA website me to a place called the historic vw club. Spoke to a really nice chap who promised to send me the required proof of age. Rang the DVLA to double-check this was cool and they said it was so the "make the...

Help me with my UK registration woes

Hi guys, was hoping to get my bus registered and was told I'd have everything to send off but this was the reply from DVLA "I have to reject your first registration application because of the reasons given below: You have not enclosed your original non-UK registration certificate or export...

1968 Savannah Beige Microbus from California

Installed an electronic ignition and the difference is amazing. One question though: since doing the conversion, turning over the bus is very slow. It still starts, but the speed of turning over has slowed right down (If that makes sense?). I was thinking I might have just drained the battery...

    unploading pics

I'd just use photobucket mate. Dead easy to use and free. Edit: durr sorry didn't read the first post properly, obviously! Flickr perhaps? Or Imgur

1968 Savannah Beige Microbus from California

Thanks, I love your bus too, was checking it out for inspiration. Me too, regret touching the overriders now, but you live and learn, eh? Not painting anything else on it. I guess I can always wait for them to rust again - can't take too long in Wales :) Yeah I need to post some more pics...

1968 Savannah Beige Microbus from California

Seats were a bit of a mess so I popped outside in between work to do some quick-and-dirty upholstery with a couple of coffee sacks from Brazil. Looks alright, I reckon. The towel in the door is because the window scrapers are leaking like crazy. Got to do that soon.

1968 Savannah Beige Microbus from California

1968 Savannah Beige Microbus from California

Okay, as mentioned in the technical thread, I sorted out my gear issue and it now drives. Fitted the missing tinware and heat exchanger pipes and had a bit more of a fiddle with the carb and it's now running reasonably well :D still a little rattly but will fix that with the new repro heat...

    Arizona Yellow '68 Deluxe

I was there too briefly, would have been good to see this one in person, really like this bus.

    gears all over the place

Just an update: Think the gearstick might have been a late one bodged on or something? Or maybe it was just broke, but something was very wrong. Anyway, kind of followed all your advice and bought a shifter but went for the cheapo Empi one from Heritage. I'm sure it's nowhere near as good as the...

1968 Savannah Beige Microbus from California

First job on saturday was I cleaned it as best I could where it was stood and hand polished and waxed it, cleaned the windows and gave the inside a good scrub (the first of many I'm sure!). Next, I put in a petrol cap, a new coil, an OG air filter, a distributor cap, and a rotor arm. Played...

1968 Savannah Beige Microbus from California

We recently swapped our 71 UK poptop with a trader for this Microbus Deluxe from California. It finally turned up seven weeks later than agreed and a few hundred quid over budget. Also, though we agreed it would be MOT'd and safe to drive, it has four knackered tires and won't really go into...

    gears all over the place

Thanks for the input guys! Reading that link now and some of the text sounds like mine, except mine is even worse, there's no H as such I don't think - I can't even make out what it is but it would be more like an Egyptian Hieroglyphic than a H  Going to take out the computer in the...

    gears all over the place

My new bay was delivered today and we've got a mad rush to get it ready for holiday. Well, there's six weeks, but I'd say that's a mad rush for a new bus and my level of experience. At the moment the gears are awful, literally all over the place. As far as I can tell the gearbox isn't...
