What happened to your engine, and was it an old engine? +1 can recommend Abel. I’ve had my engine from him for five years and still running sweet.

Fuel pump relay and other starting issues

How about earthing your relay via an inertia switch, then if you have a bump the electrical supply to your pump is turned off.

    Brake Drum Recommendations?

I also used CSP drums to replace the brazza drums. They were £300 for the pair (with £25 off for a special offer) in 2019. I found they were very tight to get on the splines. I probably should have filed the drums a bit to make it easier to slide them on. However as others have said they look...

    Brake Drum Recommendations?

I have a pair of used rear drums if you are interested. They are Brazilian of unknown age. They were ok but I replaced everything on the rear brakes a few years ago, including the drums.

    Nasty Knocking Noise

So did the RAC get you personally home ? Doesn’t sound like very good service if it took days to get your van home. Hope it’s nothing serious with the engine.

Kitchen cabinet and fridge + burner + sink

I stripped out the interior of the cooler unit and installed a new fridge. I’ve kept the sink on top and moved cold water supply to a 5 litre container behind the passenger seat. I prefer to use stand alone gas cartridge cooker so that I can use it inside or outside of the van. I also found...

Group buy- Delrin bush for shift rod

I think the delrin bush is precisely made, so that there is no sloppiness at the guide pin and the front shift rod. The problem is the shift rods appear to not be precisely engineered so there is some that fit and some don't with the delrin bush. It certainly would have not fit my OG shift rod...

Group buy- Delrin bush for shift rod

When I receive the refund I will share out between everyone in the group buy. The email I have says up to ten days. I agree it is good customer service from Jason as clearly there is a variance in fitting which had not been expected.

Group buy- Delrin bush for shift rod

It seems odd that Jason hasn’t had any feedback about the bushes not fitting. It will be interesting to hear what the manufacturers say in reply to your email. There is only a mm or two difference between the OG shift rod and the Wolfsburg west one, and I wonder if there are other shift rods...

Group buy- Delrin bush for shift rod

Steve, can I just check one of these measurements with you? The first one of the shift rod section with the yellow marking. W1K1 measured it as 0.410 inch. That equates to 10.4mm. That would also agree with my own estimate of around 10mm.
