    Dormobile pop top question

Perfect thank you. Just got back from a couple of days away, had a great time as I'd forgotten just how much I enjoyed going away in it! Some jobs for the winter...

    Dormobile pop top question

Thank you :) Well if that bracket is for the warning light then they are def back to front! Makes complete sense now you mention it. The warning light hasn't worked for years ever since the van was resprayed and the switch got gummed up with paint however I finally got round to hitting it with a...

    Dormobile pop top question

And another one! (yes I've finally managed to spend some time on my van after too long an absence) I had to dismantle the pop-top struts as they got jammed and when I re-assembled I noticed this bracket with a screw hole in. I can't recall what this was for. Does anyone know? On my Dormi this...

    Dormobile table foldup leg

hi all, wondering if someone out there has a dormobile table with foldup leg they can take a picture of for me please? I had a copy made of my original Dormobile interior and took the table fittings to the new table. Somehow the metal strap that supports the table leg when it is up has bent out...

    Quick question on rear hubs...

Some good stories :) In the end my friendly local garage peeps came out and sorted it all out. I was on a work call at home when they arrived and finished just as they were finishing. I checked the outside cams and they got the van up, wheels off (it's lowered so they needed to pry the...

    Quick question on rear hubs...

would an impact gun do the same thing? Annoying about the 1/2 vs 3/4" as I've now got a redundant 1/2" 46mm socket 😁

    Quick question on rear hubs...

Thanks @Graham L for keeping us sane 😁 At least I was attempting to loosen! I was using a 1/2" with the bar also inside my jack handle for extra leverage. Do you think that slugger would fit inside a jack handle, looks quite big?

    Quick question on rear hubs...

looked into it further and the nearside bearing clamp nut/ front hub lock nut is left threaded by the looks of it? Reason I ask is I was trying to remove the nearside rear castle nut and managed to break my breaker bar and wondering if I was going the wrong way - anti-clockwise to loosen?

    Quick question on rear hubs...

thanks @davidoft , I could have sworn I read that they were threaded opposite 😁 but guess not!

    Quick question on rear hubs...

maybe should be posting this in technical but...on a UK RHD van, is the offside front and rear hub threaded left? thanks!

    Garage Lifts

Thanks @sunnyside , that's huge! We are going through planning at the moment & I've just had our first plans rejected which was for an approx 12m x 7m garage with an office on top rejected (not much of surprise there really) which is why I'm now scaling it down to a single story garage only...

    Garage Lifts

Thanks @sunnyside, those are good prices! Can I ask how big the garage will be and how you are managing the roof joists? I'm just in the planning stages of doing this but am in an AONB which makes life a bit harder!

    Garage Lifts

I'm thinking of getting a lift fitted and was wondering whether anyone had any experience? I've seen this post but not much else. Not sure wether to look at a 2 post lift or something more like a quickjack?

Hot air ducting - any diagrams?

Hi there, just wanted to say thanks for posting this as I've just been crawling under my van and noticed the very same! I've seen this tubing which I'm guessing is the right piece? Attached are my pics, the sealed bit came off in my hands yesterday!

What part of the track rod is this?

Thanks Ozzie, where do you get your stuff from? I've managed to figure out that I need a track / tie rod end boot courtesy of the Heritage diagram (#9): https://www.heritagepartscentre.com/uk/volkswagen/t2-bay/steering/tie-rods-ends.html

What part of the track rod is this?

I'm trying to figure out which part the rubber bit is highlighted below. Do I need a new track-rod end or is it a track rod end boot or a replacement boot for ball joint? Also should I replace both? Looking through my MOT/ service history i seem to have gone through a lot of track rod ends and...
