    Wanted: EB steering wheel

Hi all, I'm after a perfect condition OG steering wheel, ideally with horn push but not essential. Its for a '72 crosser so I think all EB steering wheels will work, happy to be educated if I'm wrong.

    Repro tinware - Shocking!

Oh yes, 2 brand new heat exchangers, totally ***** fit and a major ball ache to get the exhaust and heating tubes to line up. I'd love a pair of NOS ones. I even splurged on a new original style steering wheel at the Volks world show to try and keep the OG look, Looked good but the centre was...

    Repro tinware - Shocking!

Without ranting too much I've been getting fed up with pretty much all repro stuff lately. Heritage's service is great but they have let me down on some stupid stuff like the door check pins listed for EB's are just totally useless but other places like C&C sell the correct ones. Same story with...

fitting vertical powder extinguisher in engine bay

Thanks, I think I'm going to try for the same place as gagvanman has shown. Wish I'd done this before fitting the engine though, I don't want to attempt to drill the firewall panel.

    rust proofing in midlands?

    I've just been to see these guys, not cheap but they seem to have done a very comprehensive job. They are in Spalding, Lincolnshire. http://www.rust.co.uk/we-rust-proof-your-car-from-250/c32734/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

fitting vertical powder extinguisher in engine bay

After reading about the right type of extinguisher to get for the engine bay I ordered the VW Heritage Daus power one. What I didn't realise was it had to be mounted vertically in the engine bay which looks to be a bit tricky. Having a search this morning I see that the Firetec one supplied by...

Can the rear balance valve cause pulsing if faulty?

I'm getting a weird brake pulsing just like a warped disc but only when I brake hard and generally downhill. It doesn't seem to be there all the time and although I will check my discs at the weekend I'm not convinced its a warped disc. When I got in my bus yesterday it did it right away...

Rear Wheel Bearings and Early Disks

I didn't bother to upgrade my setup to the later style as you can buy it all brand new from these guys now: http://brakeparts.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Far far cheaper than the VW specialists. I bought brand new calipers, pads fitting kits etc and they were identical...

Is there a source of RHD parts anywhere??

How good do they need to be? I have my old RHD ones, I gave them a very quick wirebrush and they are solid but heavily pitted in places inside. No holes though. the non slider side is a bit squashed towards the rear, not easy to see in the pics. They are from a '72 UK crosser.

Is there a source of RHD parts anywhere??

I bought both of those panels repro from JK I think (pretty sure they were made in the UK) and they were surprisingly good quality, there's pics on my build thread of the fitted items. Mark

    Wanted chrome badge

If you are not worried about it being OG I have one of these, they are stainless steel: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vw-Type-2-Bay-Camper-68-72-Stainless-Steel-Front-Panel-Badge-/331515625311?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item4d2fdeff5f" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and it looks like...

    anyone running red9 wishbone kit?

I met simon at Volksworld yesterday and as soon as he felt the play in my steering he acknowledged it wasn't right. He said he has hold of a Pailton (i think) box now and is working on a replacement but it will take a few months. He going to look at the bevel box i gave him back and send me...

    anyone running red9 wishbone kit?

Thats a lovely job and a quality looking bevel box. I had no idea these things were available. If it's from the creative kit do they make a bracket for this to bolt to a bay? its bad you had to go this route but glad to see a good solution.

    anyone running red9 wishbone kit?

It wasn't loose but it wasn't tight enough because I had taken this bolt out the previous weekend to torque the end plate bolts up, the shock was preventing me from getting my toque wrench in there and had to be moved out of the way. I think it must self centre, I haven't noticed it doesn't.

    anyone running red9 wishbone kit?

Sorted my knocking, lower shock bolt on the drivers side needed tightening. All sorted now. Put about 40-50 miles on the bus on Saturday, the front end ride is lovely, really handles the bumps and rough roads well, feels great on corners too. Just need to get the steering slop sorted out.

When i spoke to Simon last week he was expecting to be there on the Sunday.

    anyone running red9 wishbone kit?

Im hoping to let simon see my bus at Volksworld where he can see the play for himself.
