    Looking at towing a small trailer! Picked up an old trailer last year and currently have it stripped down waiting for a mini resto on it. Pics of how I got it! Plans is to paint it to match the van so in pearl white. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Cab mat finally gave up and has fallen to pieces Got a repo for ebay and although its thinner fits a treat! One thing replaced as normal causes more work. Now need to tidy up the pedals, handbrake etc with a bit of vw black

    Tax exempt still needs tax! When I did mine I got her insured, registered, taxed etc and when on road strip the **** out if her and did a resto. Did mine on drive so had peace of mind that she was insured. Not cost a couple of hundred a year compared to loosing a few bits nether mind the lot...

    I was impressed by your tow bar thread so bought one! Looking at the thickness of steel they are made with you could tow a tank!! Now gotta fit it and then sort out my trailer I picked up!

    You won't get road tax without insurance so i guess you need to insure it. Once its registered you just have to ring the insurance company up and add the reg plate.

    I was in the same boat as you but it really is easy. You need to insure it on the chassis number (ca only do this for a month) and then you can drive it to a pre booked mot which then you mot it on the chassis number then fill out the form and send it all off. Graham on here is really helpful...

    With a few days of work and the sun shining I have the love back! Steering box feels sweet, installed and wired up temp sensor, adjusted all the brakes, checked shocks, fitted an empi quick shift plate - just got to adjust as first gear is a bit off and gave her a bit of a sort out inside...

    Warbys 1969 VW early bay!!

    Stripped the box down, cleaned up and de greased, sprayed in VW black, re sealed and put back together with new seals and filled up with oil! I now have a leak free steering box 8) Now back on Van and connected up!! Just need to straighten up the steering wheel! :msn4:

    What a bitch the steering box removal is :evil: After a bit of gentle persuasion and a little heat the pitman arm came free! :D Steering box now off!! :P Now to strip down and clean up. The coupler wasn't to bad but it was split so have a new one to fit!!
