    Urgent help needed

Think its Schofield's who do them, depends on the type of key your new barrel uses Kate. You might just be able to swap the lock wafers over.. Worth looking into how easy it is to do before fitting the new barrel, the one thats in it might only need cleaning up and putting back in. Sent from my...

Shocks bottoming out? Is that even possible?

Gaz also sell off the shelf adjustable shocks in multiple different lengths. https://issuu.com/edeuro/docs/gaz_2015_catalogue_v1final/1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Towards the back of that catalogue, about £65 each I think but almost unlimited length and stroke sizes...

    Timing

Setting it at 7.5 degrees at idle is nearly never correct for a SVDA. Mines set at 30 degrees max and returns to about 5 degrees at idle. You say 0 btdc advance is not good for the engine? But VW fitted some dizzys that would pull 5 degrees atdc for emissions purposes didn't they, on beetles...

    Brake fluid

Hmm, have you tried bleeding the brakes? Or do they feel spongy? Wonder if air is gradually returning to the reservoir and the fluid is replacing it. The fact its drinking fluid would indicate its leaking though, and the point about having no marks on the drive indicates it could be leaking...

How to drive to Devon/Cornwall in a air-cooled van

I don't think its all about monitoring gauges etc, VW never fitted them and how many buses broke down? Probably less than they do now! Just got to make sure everything is in place, tinware, flaps etc. And its tuned right. If your running something aftermarket on the engine or something that's...

Both indicator dash lights stay on ,any ideas?

Can't help you with your problem Foz, but I'm interested in these diagrams above. Trying to work out why there are these problems when wired like that If the warning lamps are wired into the relay output which flashes the lamps on the outer of the vehicle then why would they stay on...

    Timing

You do time it with the. vac hose off. Something's not right there, does the timing advance as you rev the throttle without the vac? Setting it with vac on probably means your idle setting is now well off. Sent from my Siswoo C55 using Tapatalk

    CB Radio

Haha, excellent. Had mine in the bus for a couple of days now. Just about picked up a bloke on the M18 (albeit very quiet and noisy) today, I assume he was somewhere near J3 but couldn't quite make that out and not sure he could here me. Not bad going considering its about 30 miles from me! Not...

    Average cost of a respray?

All depends on what sort of condition you plan to give it to the paint shop in.. If you get the welding done and prep the bus(properly! All the time is in the prep) then you might only be looking at about 1k for a decent paint job. But that's a risk you take if you prep the bus yourself, if you...

    CB Radio

Reviving a year old thread I know, but did not think it was worth creating a new one. Just installing an old CB in my bus this week, and am wondering if its worth putting together a list of everyone's 'handles' who are on the EB forum. So you know if you've picked up a signal from a fellow...

    Spring plate bushes.

From what I gather, the idea is that the plates do not rotate in the bushes. The inside of the bushes are designed to twist with the plate and the outside is supposed to stay put, so the twist is provided by the elastic nature of the bush. Hence the use of talc rather than grease, it initially...

    Rear wheel bearing

They have there place in the industry, for parts that are crap from everyone.. Like klok panels, sometimes they are a bit cheaper. But other than that, pretty poor. Great if you need something like a cable or similar in a hurry, cos you can pick up. Usually just buy oil and fan belts from them...

    Help - Hot rear drums

I think what sparky was trying to say is just disconnect the vacuum from the Servo, and then it shouldn't be doing anything. Sent from my Siswoo C55 using Tapatalk

    Oil breather fitted.

Wow that's a seriously large breather box.. Aren't those open vents just going to blow oil all over the engine bay? Can't you feed one into one of the carb filters and then block the rest off? Sent from my Siswoo C55 using Tapatalk

Thought I had seen somewhere that theres not much difference between the coils available on the market, and the Lucas ones available on eBay etc are more than suitable? Those petronix ones are fairly expensive aren't they?! Sent from my Siswoo C55 using Tapatalk

Wanted!!! Campsite recommendation in North Yorkshire!

Not quite on the way home nut Usha Gap in Muker, Swaledale is lovely, 2 pubs less than 15 minutes walk away. No electric though, but Firepits are fine. There's a few other sites further up in Keld which are also supposed to be nice. The hideaway @ Baxby Manor (York) is also very nice, one of...
