There may be something to be said for getting a turnkey engine that you can install to keep you ging for the rest of the summer, then you can investigate your existing engine at relative leisure...

What's this knocking noise? (with video)

In all likelihood, nothing, but the points could just concieveably have burned or slipped - happened to me before on an Austin Maxi I had, they slipped miles and it ran like crap until I found it! It probably is mechanical though as the others have said...

Yeah, half trying at any rate! Cheers for that, that's really good of you! I did know about orange light, yep - on the 'to do ' list, doesn't work at the moment! Until then I'll just have to resort to an 'over the shoulder' check to remind me whether or not I have an oversized frame tent on...

Newly built engine - massive failure :-( Oil everywhere!!

I got a VW heritage one I think, it was the rebuildable type: https://www.vwheritage.com/shop/113127025D/fuel-pump-t1-t2-1-2-1-6-for-dynamo-rod-best-quality/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; But take care if you order one - you need to measure the length of the actuating rod to...

Hi all Dormobile owners, Really pernickety bit!! - under the sink lid, there is/ was a warning label, something to do with travelling with the lid up or something. Anyway - mine is 80% missing - I wondered if anyone had a photo of the original - was thinking of trying to print up a...

    Aussies do europe

Out of interest, roughly how much was it to have the van shipped over - and could you leave it full of your stuff?

    School me on dormobiles...

Yeah, there *might* be a square plate on each corner with a raised, angled circular bit in the middle - into which the table leg screws (something like a 5/16" UNC screw!)

    School me on dormobiles...

Good job! From what I understand, the company trading as Dormobile these days doesn't have any of the historical production records of old Dormobile in its heyday. Someone please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, however! So, sadly, probably not, unless you are lucky enough to tun up a...

    Aussies do europe

Wow - fantastic adventure and a fantastic looking bus too - very crisp looking - love the details like the side stripes too. Enjoy! If you have time take in Donegal and the west coast of Ireland for rugged coastal scenery, or into Antrim to Giant's Causeway, great calling point in N.I.!
