'69 deluxe project Lefty - back on the road again!!

Very slow progress, but 'project Lefty' still going on and on. Had a serious job by repairing the indicator switch. There were some broken connections which are all fixed now. Next steps: • Decompressing the brake system • Testing the engine (next week!) • Mount gearbox and engine! • Replacing...

'69 deluxe project Lefty - back on the road again!!

Some new pics . . . started to sorting out the electricity. The lights and whipers are working now, only the front indicators need a upgrade. One of them had played an aquarium ;) The rear light units where American, but I've converted to European style unit (with full red lens). Last thing...

Thnx for the compliments! Will drive this fanhouse first, without modifications. I've found an original fan house with the flaps in it(1600, dual port), only need some good metal work to complete it.

'69 deluxe project Lefty - back on the road again!!

Also one little extra update . . . The engine that's made for Lefty (1835cc) is build over a long time. It contains parts of the old engine and some new parts. Because of the history of the engine (and builder) I've decided to check the engine by a friend and specialist...

'69 deluxe project Lefty - back on the road again!!

Hi Wizzard! The old copper lines shows no dents etc. but maybe your right. A new set of copper lines aren't that expensive. Made already such an amount of extra costs (on the engine for example) that I will take this 'clogged' risk. I also have the guarantee there's some work left for winter...

'69 deluxe project Lefty - back on the road again!!

Sprayed the batterytray today. Not a nice paintjob but much better than the 'Taiwan black' I guess. Almost finished the brakes. Fitted new brakehoses at the front and rear. Also the handbrake works again. I've only have to fit the Porsche 944 master brakecilinder.... Maybe next week? And...

'69 deluxe project Lefty - back on the road again!!

Very slow progress on this . . .the airride setup is 99,9% completed. Had a leak on one of the fittings and on top of one airshock. Solved the leaks and fitted the wheelcover. The pressure switch is a little to big, so the cover doesn't close for 100%. Last thing to do: place the pressure switch...

Thnx for the nice words guys! Yesterday I've made a start with 'Project-X' . . . It's kind of a copy, one of my friends did it a few months ago ;) Just modified the ashtray to put in the switches for the airride . . . Today I've sprayed it black, next week installing the switches.

'69 deluxe project Lefty - back on the road again!!

Took a while since the last update . . . shame on me! Due summerholiday in July and a lot of work at my own company there was no time left to work on Lefty. A few weeks ago I’ve started with checking and 'refreshing' the rear brakedrums. After opening it, it realy don’t look bad at all...
