Thanks for confirming the bolts to the chassis. Yeah it is strange. I thought I was over looking something obvious! Perhaps it is something to do with the production process as the original also has a hole in that position, but perhaps they used to remove the stud / thread? :?: I might try...

Evening Gents, I purchased a new support mount from JK and it has raised a couple of questions: The new one has a threaded bolt on the bottom which the original did not. Does anyone know what this is for? Also, when I removed the original mount, it only had one bolt holding it, however...

:lol: Old and pragmatic! :mrgreen: No Decklid is probably fine for drag-racing, but I'm not so sure about sitting in traffic with the sun blazing down on the top of the engine and the hot exhaust gasses flowing around on it. :?

I tried a couple of belts available from the usual suppliers for my Bosch alternator, but neither seemed to fit correctly. I ended up guessing a few mm less to try and get a better tension and ended up with a 10 x 888mm V Belt from EuroCarParts.

It sounds like yours is really stuck, so I am not sure if it would work, but I've used a piece of decking wood, shaped to fit in the end of the valve, then tapped on the end of the wood with a mallet to get it 'stuck' in the end of the valve, then I gave it a slight twist and pull to get it out...

Well done to you, I consider workers like you (Royal Mail, food shop and warehouse workers, delivery drivers etc) essential (along with the obvious NHS), so thank you for continuing to work right now. I know a few people who rely on food home deliveries. I'd give you thanks if I could ... ;)...
